    Re: SoCal "Murdered Out"

    Thanks again guys.

I'll get one made soon and see if you guys all want one lol.
I'll also mold the lip to flow with the valance whether it's 162 or 165 front bumper. I'll make the NACA ducts better as well.

Thanks Steve, I'm probably gonna start a shop like RWB, Gembella, Brabus, and design bodies/engines for cars in the future. It's my dream :cheers

Going for almost an OEM look. I tinted it way too dark at one point and had scratch out the tint and redo it again and finally had it the way I wanted it to look.

Too lazy to resize the pictures lol, anyway...
    Started with...

    Cut out...
and sanded a bit and soaked in oil let dry in the sun for about a week.
Then did some more sanding. And this is what came out.

Then I took it off since it was raining and didn't want to ruin it so I could use it for the fiber glass mold. I still have the cardboard cutout as well.
But here are the mounting points, which...I'm still not done with... as you can see with missing brackets and pieces
I was planning to have 4-5 more mounting points lol. But I think I can simplify this into 5 points for the finished product. I'm using existing holes that Toyota made for some 10mm's bolts for the brackets.

    [IMG][IMG]
Was also gonna make my own front supports like you usually see in the front splitters.
Whole thing holds fairly well. I can bolt the middle bracket in without bolting the others and it still holds well.

    Nice! :D

Although I agree with what eNtraxGT88 says with the side of the splitters.

Can't wait to see more progress! :)

or maybe you could send the wooden splitter mold to a company so that they could make a carbon fiber one for you. :p

My neighbor made a mold of rear splitters for his Lotus Esprit V8 (I got to help him a bit! :D) based on plexiglass or something like that, and had carbon fiber ones made based off of that mold for him.
He's now selling carbon fiber rear splitters for like 4 grand a set. (it's two small pieces) :eek5

    Re: SoCal "Murdered Out"

    Thanks for the replies guys.
I think a carbon fiber splitter is very far down the road haha. I'll redo everything carbon fiber after the car gets a new engine, paint, and maybe blackleather upholstery lol. Priorities first :D lol I can barely buy anything above $20. I used to buy tire shine all the time, not anymore because of priorities. I think I can take how dirty the tires look lol.

In other news, I my right CV/half shaft is making noises. Sounds like it has no bearing or something :eek5 . I'm not gonna drive it 15 miles to school today. I was afraid of even driving it last night because of the clacking and it was only a mile. Gonna check it when I get back home after school to confirm and see what it actually is. Steering rack, halfshafts, CVs in my mind are already due for replacement anyway. I have to fight the steering wheel to keep the car straight at times, especially in poorly made roads. I've tried removing the steering rack from another Celica...Sucks to not have a lift... :ack2

    Re: SoCal "Murdered Out"

Yes they are indeed tinted. You can see through them 50% of the time in the hopes of having less of a chance of cop attention. I try One more step darker and it would've have been limo tint up front which I prefer lol. The 4th Gen Celica has so much glass it basically acts like a greenhouse. Started to fade my interior and eating it away. Especially the rear seat head rest area.

    Thanks :D

BTW on a side note. I drive can my car now :) Found out the loud clunking noise was actually the left strut being extremely loose. Morons at PepBoys...
All did was tighten it. I'm just happy I can drive Alexis again.

Now I can go back to hearing the other clunking noise the car has always been making. :mrgreen

I feel like checking every dang bolt now.

    Re: SoCal "Murdered Out"

I took it off the car so it wouldn't get ruined so I can use it for the fiberglass mold. When I did have it on I drove it for about 2 weeks and did notice a slight drop in temp more often than not. Felt like the car was more stable, but me thinks not, in reality. I could be wrong :fingersx

    Re: SoCal "Murdered Out"

I know. I'm pretty sure it does more good than bad. :D
But if it was done wrong, like at a slight slant it could be your downfall and your front end would be forced up and at high speeds like in this video :eek5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP6gzpwmito

Re: SoCal "Murdered Out" Auto tranny is barely engaging in '

My auto transmission has been engaging in reverse with a 3 second delay. Hit the the gas in between those 3 seconds and you will have a big jerk when the reverse gear finally catches itself. But now its worse. It barely engages. At times, I put it in 'R' and I'm still at a stand still and I have to race the rpms to finally get it moving. Other times the car moves, but in walking speed,(way slower than usual) and I still have to race the rpms way more than I should to get the car moving. Looks like to 3000 rpms.

Is this another governor gear/plastic gear? Or do I need another tranny?

Please tell me I need another tranny so I can swap this for a manual one. :fingersx
