I got my 1989 Celica GT-S for 650$ and have been working on it almost everyday sense i got her Day i bought her Pop up headlights were broken Fixed the pop up headlights took about 30 mins The Next Day i replaced the stock lame air box with a high flow filter to accompany the exhaust the car came with was a lot louder under full throttle and seemed a bit more peppy through the whole rev range, especially above 4k revs Washed waxed and claybared the car the day after that, the angle makes the ceiling blend into my head and neck the end result and today i added some fog lights to the front bumper as well as wired up my 12 inch sub
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S Looks great and what a steal of a price. The car looks stunning after the claybar, throw up some more daylight pics. It looks mint
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S Welcome, nice to know there are still good ones available. For some reason I think Henry Ford would have loved the 4g, black really suits them!
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S thanks! yeah i was almost drooling after teh clay bar lol and for the price my best 650 bucks ever spent *knocks on wood* and certainly i just need to take a few more thanks +1 thanks for the welcome and yeah i would have to agree black suits the car very well.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S Thought id upload a video from when i just bought the car of the exhaust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0JQJmoDbGU let me know what you think
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S nice!!! very nice!! now i think myself that one thing that would look unreal savage on your car would be a set of these!! http://in.teamprototype.com/?nav=estore&action=details&product_id=25
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S Sounds badass and looks even better!!!! lol, have to love shifting into reverse. Mine does this a lot.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S That's because there's no syncro's on reverse, you got to let the box stop spinning 1st! Badass?, sounds like it needs tuning http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BstYiwZQAA Thats a stock std motor with rusted head gasket and fukd bearings (lucky I pulled it after the vid)
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S i think i need to run wider rubber before i get some of these i have, actualy i am also looking at some jdm tails as well ( if i can find any) Thanks man I did a car fax and its even hard for me to belive im actualy the 6th owner of the car, and the body only has 155,xxx the last owner blew a rod so the engine is another gts engine he found with only 50k miles on it at the swap 10k ago! And yea reverse ive learned its little tricks...kinda... hu no syncro.... didnt know that thought mine had a bad syncro... and it does sound a bit like mine... would a rusty head gasket add that raspyness?
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S i know what you mean man. i get paid every two weeks and it all goes into saving for school and parts for my ride.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S *update 9/9/09* on the 89, at 9:43... ill stop now When i Purchaed my Celi, the Drivers window tint had been removed, and being a DIY enthusiast i decited to do some diy tinting, before after I also added a 4inch tint strip with the leftover tint same % as the windows (20)% inside vew Also over the labor day weekend i found some Garage Door Sealant and added a 8$home depot front lip and finally as requested a couple more daylight pics
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S +1 and well as it gets colder and the days get shorter im kinda screwed sense i work outside at a golf course parking and cleaning the carts, shorter days= less day light= less hours = less pay=less spent on car
