Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S oh man! lol yeah i thought for sure someone was going to call the firedepartment on me lol especialy when i drove away from his house and filled the entire block with thick cabon smoke, most of which ended up in the car it seemed lol,
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S well, it seems like you going to relive it with your friend! lol i do too, i was jw since matt was using 5w-30 but then i rethought it and his motor was rebuilt
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S yeah i might lol yeah i got lucky the guy i bought it from bought it from a freind who blew something through the block, so he put in a another gts engine that he rebuilt,
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S yeah i know accept im wondering about his craftsmenship... i have a oil leak from the valve cover gasket and some oil in the sparkplug holes, and disgusting looking clutch fluid, so thats a bit worrying
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S *update 9/14/09* SWhen i Bought the car it came with some sick aftermarket rims, they are great accept they pose one very irritaiting issue, emmissions testing. Colorado tests all cars on basicly a dyno with a vacum attached to the end of the exhaust, this however poses one very annoying issue, my tires have basically no side wall so the machine cant test me safely.... apparently... so today i finaly got a lug nut key, and decited to swap out my nice rims with some crapy 1990 legacy subaru alloys (friends sisters car) for the test. The downer car.... he he mine with the alloys and my very big locking lugs lol my nice rims So after the wheel swap was compleete, i felt good going to get my emissions and then to get my plates yay!.... WRONG as i put her in to reverse and let the clutch out the worse sound i have ever hurd came out of my car. so i got out checked and backed up slowly again... turns out the wheels were to small and my calipers were scraping on the inside... great so i swaped them back and the calipers are a tad scraped but okay... So i went home where i was greated with some decals But like always i did something wrong, I got st162.com decals... but figuring i should show some love even tho they are the .com ones lining one up I applied one to the back as well but dont have a good pic of it
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S good luck with the smog check dude. in california its pretty much the same probably more regs though.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S thanks man, yeah i have a little wiggle room so i should be okay but still i hope i figure this out
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S you should be cool. hopefully the guys smoging your ride arent pricks man
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S yeah most def, and well ive been 2 different locations and one place was cool the other place wasn't. I just need to find some wheels with more side wall and i should be good.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S really? wow, oh nvm. where you are from you need the side wall i guess. the snow? i really dont know why.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S yeah the second place (cool place not just pricks) actually let me on the machine and said i needed more sidewall, sense the runners are actually lower than the ground level if my car moved at 60 mph and touched the side of the machine with the little side wall i do have would damage my wheels or the machine so as a safety measure i need more rubber, hense my current irritating situation.
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S yeah well my new plan is to buy a second spare from a celica gt-s or alltrac mounting it and my spare and doing emissions
Re: Matt's 1989 Celica GT-S why not just the a whole set of the stock gt-s or alltrac rims? its better to have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. know what i mean?
