Sure there is a lip to seat the wheel, just not shown in the pic very well.

Sounds good rich, few things i will throw into the mix ;)

Im having problems with 16" rims fitting over my brakes 315x32mm and HUGE callipers so you may or may not get lucky with 16" rims?

Im surprised to hear that the sunroof parts weigh as much as 20 kg!? As you know i stripped the LOT out of my spare st165, certainly didn't feel to weigh that much?
I will weigh the stock sunroof panel to see how much we will loose from that ;)

Im not sure where else i can shed some weight from the car, AC would be a start, but it works so well ;)

I am going to take out and relocate some items such as the water washer bottle, that can go to the cabin passenger side.

I am also going to take the mirrors apart, the motors weigh a bit, change them to manual adjustment.

Unless you start stripping out the A/C its hard imo to lose a lot from the front end. as we discussed before, I am not going to cut the front end apart to take out weight.

Main think I want to do this winter is re do the underneath panels in thin alloy, I really want to maximse aiflow to the coolers and through the bonnet.

If I had a spare bonnet, I would be very tempted to reverse scoop it and cut it out where the turbo sits, to draw air though the rads. Would not use this for everyday use, but only for track.

IMO the engine bay temps in my car are still to high, and much as I want to, not everything can be sorted by cermaic coating. I have to manage the air better, even if it causes extra drag.

My car is in limbo mode, i use it on road for car shows/events but i also will want to use it on a few more track days etc
The AC is nice but maybe not a 'bigie' as i have a sunroof?

I must get the car weighed again as it has very light wheels, liht weight two piece prop shaft, soon to be lighter sunroof panel, removed most the ice, no CC reservoir, stock seats have gone blah blah blah ;)

I aree leave the bumpers alone.
Maybe the Fibreglass wings will weih less, althouh the stock wings don't really weigh much, same oes for the rear quater windows, very light!

Roof panel is held in by 3 bolts.
the rest of the assmbly is held in by self tappers and 10mm nuts.

brackets would need to be made to hold the sunroof panel in place with the mechanism removed.

Just make sure you put wooden blocks etc under the crowbar or may dent something
Mine was starting to stick, nothing a track clean and lube wouldn't fix

Loosen all the bolts/nuts, leave some nuts on so it doesn't fall or twist, get it
loose & then remove the nuts

    Re: 88 GT4 ST165 Track car ST205 brakes / big discs on!!

well my brake conversion is taking far far far longer than I anticipated or wanted.
    To re cap.
One second hand caliper needed new seals, the other looked fine.
so drivers side caliper has new seals added to existing pistons.
Than my stainless lines are too short. New custom lines commisioned and made up.
    Fit perfectly.
try to bleed brakes, passenger side caliper is sticking open, even with pedal on, you can still turn hub by hand.
Caliper off, seals out, ( sorry no pics, did it in a rush) pistons rusty.
new piston kits £70 plus VAt from Toyota!!! Then I would need new seals £20.
So instead I get exchange re con calipers, as by now I am fed up with all this hassle.
To people following this thread, you will know that Brakes have been an issue with my car for years.
    So far I have.
Replaced the front calipers, inc these new ones 6 yes 6 TIMES
    Replaced the rear calipers Twice
Replaced the Master cylinder 4 Times
So now, in an effort to put paid to these issues I have purchased 2 fully guarranted fully re- conditioned Calipers.
    new pins as well.
    plus CV boot kit.
You may say I am mad doing this, as one caliper I had just replaced the seals in. But honstly I am fed up of brakes, I just want to drive the car, so using these "new" parts, gives me the peace of mind that the brakes will work spot on. Unless I won the lottery, these parts are now staying on the car, no further front caliper upgrades. just maybe swap to diff pads and new discs.

So weather and time permiting I will have these all on the car just after the weekend and we will be back out and runing.
