mount comes with the brace, so its a simple bolt in upgrade. will check out your thread for the other braces.

    For you - yes,
but I got 3 types mixed up and used the wrong rear mount just to make it more interesting,
oh well, at least I now have a bunch of options and learned how to make the motor tilt back more
and solid at the same time :)

Mount comes with brace but I think Gen1 & 2 GTE head may be different spacing etc

Your front screen isn't shaded like ours, looks like the rear has the vignette or shading

yep forgot you played mix an match with the mounts :) still any way you can shift the weight further back and lower down without too much compromise has to be a good thing.

Yeah the screens at the rear have that shaded banding, some UK cars have a top tint screen, but mine is a replacement screen from a while back without any tint

I was in the yards playing with a SW20 on the weekend.
Have you contemplated fitted an electric P/S pump?

Couple of guys have done it on the uk forums, using ones from I think a new vauxhall, it would maybe be a longer term goal.

the toyota electric PS pump is garbage. most of the mr2 guys here have nothing but problems with it.

LOL, A guy brought me a Merc pump to fix, it has a circut board on it
so the MR2 can't be that bad but they are damn expensive 2nd hand.

Anybody find a better alternative, let me know
I'm also looking for info, pics, price of the Halfords R13 aircon re-gass kit

meant to tell you. don't bother switching the transfer case.
that only applies to the 165 gearbox and after more research we have discovered it's no help.

    Cheers mate.

No updates really from me at present :( not to say I aint been busy.

I have now got the following bits ready to bolt on the car

ST185 RC group A rear diff
    ST205 rear control ams
polybushes for rear suspension and subframe
KYB AGX for the rear shocks ( on order just waiting)
    3SGE side feed manifold
3SGE throttle body, going to use this and swap over the throttle mounting, its a slightly bigger bore than the GTE one and does without the 4 stud rubber mount which is a pain
Re con ST165 cylinder head, awaiting dropping at the machine shop, for porting, polishing and matching to the exhaust and inlest gaskets
once the head is back, then the shimless buckets can go in
Sitting in some old engine oil, I have a pair of 3sge cams
Remote oil filter kit using a sierra cosworth filter
    Oil cooler
Swirl pot from a Sierra cosworth
Supra hybrid turbo with forge actuator
oil pressure / temp / water temp / EGT / AFR gauges to fit. 3 up by the rear view mirror, two to go in to the space where the cente dash vents are.
Fix my broken heater control valve
Extra pipe work for FMIC re route..4th time now  :)
    Brake bias valve
    Copper brake piping

So winter this year will be very very busy for me. :D :D :D

    Items still to get
Rear handbrake shoes, the ST162s one I purchased dont fit???????
    Turbo rad
extra piping for swirl pot system for coolant
    Walbro fuel pump
Gaskets and bolts for subframe swap
EBC grooved and drilled front and rear discs with yellow stuff pads
Still to make up, brake stopper, rear braces, front splitter and engine bay trays
TRD steel 1.2mm hg, or a ST205 one.

    Possible parts
    New bearings for the motor
    Water injection
    Rear cage
possible new paint for car. if £££££s allow,

Sadly my experiment to try and fit pucka ST182 coilovers to my car did not work, in the slightest, wayyyy to different, still as for the barely used coilovers would have only cost me £100, it was worth a shot.

Car runing well, fixing the oil weep from the turbo this week, and playing with the rear camber a bit more, in prep for the last race of the rear, Oct 24th, the night race. :D

everything looks good except the copper brake lines. copper is bad. use steel.

yeah I remember you saying, will prob just sell on my copper pipe roll and get some steel. I am having the idea to run the lines inside the car to prevent rust damage

Interior brake lines give you the option of adding bias valves as well

That's an impressive collection you got there, business must be looking up!
About time you had a spare motor, need an assistant?

Re: My 88 GT4 ST165 Sprint / fast road car

yeah the more I look at re doing the lines, the more I want to run them all internally

Business just really started at present, all the bits are from a while back, or recent bartered deals ;)

I do want to build up a good stock short motor, new pistons, rings etc, all mostly std, as dont have the money for a forged one.

one day re the assistant, get you over here for the UK gen4 meet I am determined to put together.

My other project is to be started. a wine rack and book ends from a 3sge engine. should be a nice winter diversion lol

I am hoping for a bit more space to run extra rear neg camber, at present the wheels are a bit to close to the shock cup with my prefered settings.

I could ditch the WL Camber bolts!
