Zak062's alltrac ***CS HOOD*** BIG 2 POST UPDATE 11-9-09

UPDATE 12/22/07

My daily driver is fixed and running after alot of bullshit. So now i just have to replace a timing belt on a neon and then its time for the alltrac . I have a few plans in store for the alltrac as of right now. Im gonna remove her engine again, replace all the seals, which includes a MHG. Before i put the engine back in i need to drop the rear dif and replace the bushings and mount cuz its knocking around. When i have the rear dif out im gonna spray POR15 on the underside of the car along with the engine bay. Im also gonna be doing alot of weight reduction by removing the ps system, ac system, and heater core. Once all that is done im gonna plop the engine back in and paint the car with a buddy of mine. So im looking at ALOT of work and $$$$ within the next 3 to 6 months. .

 

UPDATE 1/8/08

I've decided to go the hybrid route with the 5sfe block and 3sgte head. So i purchased a block and now i need to get ahold of many other items. The trac has been sitting for a while now, i starter her up because it was warm and was she beautiful. I cant wait to get this engine put together and throw her in. By the time im done im gonna have 2.

I've been researching the whole hybrid thing for a little while but i doubt i have all the information. I know i need oil squirters, not sure how to instal those... I need 87mm pistons iirc. I've read i can use 3sgte rods... not quite sure about that one. Any input would be greatly appriciated. Im still learning so help is gonna be needed.

 

UPDATE 1/17/08

So i've been a little busy the past 2 days.


It started when i took her out to drive a lil while ago and she ran like absolute shit and im tired of it... Rebuild for now. Along with that im gonna put in mounts, speed source bushings & clutch line, remove egr, and a new clutch. Funny how last time when i didn't know anything, it took me 2 months. This time took me 2 days, lol.

 

sure if i had 800$ i would. But then i would probobly rebuild that one as well.

 

i found a place about 20 miles from me with a US engine for 900. Just look around.

 

im suprised ur found a 1st gen 3sgte...

 

Red one is for cars
Blue for marine
Yellow for audio

Dont let them charge more than 175$, if its over than that, go somewhere else.

If you want to hear about an idiot, when i took my moms escort in for an alignment, the guy told me the outer tie rod was bad. But the thing is i just replaced both. When i told him so he asked if i replaced all 4 outer tie rods... i spent 20 minutes argueing with him that A) only 2 OUTER tie rods B) i just replaced both

UPDATE 2/25/08

So its been a while since i updated but i finished replacing everything. I got her bolted back in and thats about all im going to do today. I still have to purchase my front mount intercooler and replace the rear dif cushion and she will be ready for paint.

The engine bay color is very similar to the body but not quite the same. Im gonna be painted the exterior a dark blue like the stock color.

 

UPDATE 3/8/08

So i've been busy with alot of other things but i mainly got the trac put back together. I bought a front mount from a guy on alltrac.net but i havn't heard from him in a few days :/ . But besides the front mount, i just need to put the propellar shaft in, tranny mount, and crossmemeber. Then after that i get to drop the front end on the ground for the first time in 3 months and lift the rear up to replace the rear dif mount. After all that, time for paint!
