New pics of my super-red '87 Celica The beginning : viewtopic.php?f=60&t=3746 And now, some pics of my red Celica rebuilding project. 3E5 "super red" paint + varnish.
that looks a lovely paint job, very very smart, damn I am jealous. one day will have to nip over the channel and meet up.
The professional painter, a friend of mine, is very meticulous and he has gold hands. He took his time, two weeks to apply and sand body filler, dry and water-sanding primer and paint/varnish job
The underside... not really. Some parts of the underside have been treated and painted : front and rear lower arms (with poly bushings), wheels guards but not the body itself. it's in a good shape with no rust.
Absolutely no rust around windows. What do you call "boot"? Not running yet. I got a problem : I wanted to align my front wheels before a professional geometry job and I tried to lift up the front end. The hydraulic jack slipped from under the cross member and hit the oil cooler metallic hose. Result : cracked hose, it has to be changed. :? The Celi will have to wait now as the bodywork shop is closed, on holidays till end of august. Here are some new pics : New wheels. Cristal white repeaters. Black trims alignment
DAWMN  Looks great. What are those things in your bumper? Parking sensors or something? Factory?
Reverse gear radars. Not original, aftermarket accessory. To install, it's needed to drill the plastic bumper but also the foam underside.
Very nice Oxi What oil cooler do you have? Is the drivers door better now? I was wondering when someone was going to fit Altezza rims, but they're not - just identical What did you use to glue the black trims on with? Can you find me a pair of the front trims without the indicator hole? (EU type) Actually mine have silver stripes in them exept for the drivers door which was changed to the earlier type door years ago and looks better When you sending me a ticket so I can come help with the stickers?
Hello Kevin, thanks. Rims are italian Momo Winter. 15' X 6 - ET 35. For trims, I used 3M double-side foam adhesive, very strong. For a pair of front trims, I will have to have a look on internet as there is no 162 in junkyards around here.
Not to worry, maybe you see some trims in the future You said you broke the oil cooler pipe, was that for the steering or do you have an aftermarket oil cooler? I meant was the door still making a noise? I use another 3M tape, it's called VHB (very high bond), very expensive but worth it Here's a std Toyota Altezza 3S-GE Beams, RWD, with the Toyota rims - do you get them there? I think it's also called a Lexus IS200 or something
very nice look, been me, I would say it needs a wee drop to the weeds, but its one cool hot car if you know what I mean.
looks real smart  Even looks like the Boys in blue ( the Police) Have turned up behind you to inspect ya celica hehehe.
No, stock engine oil cooler. One of the 2 metallic pipes had been broken by the jack (an hairline near the junction with the rubber hose). I had to weld it, luckily they are steel made. For my rims, they are slightly different in shape from Altezza. They are aftermarket rims.
Gen1 has no oil cooler??? Gen2 has oil cooler like this Without cover it looks like this Still not understanding how you broke the pipe without breaking your exhaust. Yes, I said your rims looks like Altezza rim, do you get Altezza there?
