I'll probably get some shit for this, but have you ever considered trying cannabis as a painkiller?
All those chemicals will eventually do you more harm than good, whereas there are next to zero long term negative effects of THC consumption if you don't take it in smoke form.
I have never had to use it for pain relief, but I know and know of a lot of people who's quality of life has been greatly increased by using cannabis as a painkiller or antidepressant.
The only downside is you probably can't drive while high, if you do you'll probably be going half the speed limit anyway :p
It's a hell of a lot safer than drunk driving, but still stupid.

Anyway, just something that might help

    Aaron.

Good going Sean, you got a new g/f?
I agree on the drugs, long term they will f you up. You need to see what the orthopedics can do and trust me - don't believe them till you've had 2 or more opinions.
I hear the National health ain't so great unless you're dying? They've been fobbing my folks around for years instead of just fixing the problem

Still got the black car? job?

    "BACK" in action :naughty

i hear ya bud, but that was the main reason why i dont see my dad anymore, he was addicted big time and he used tos end me into town to get the stuff, and he sent m in one night for €600 euros worth, and i refused and got kicked out, trust me if i could find pain relief other than pills id be on it! but if my family found out i was doing anything else i would be ignored from everybody, and would be G/F less, adn its hard to find a G/F when your crippled..

Grill isnt fitted its just left on the front to see what its like, but you know what this means, i have a lovely set of corner lights for sale in the coming months depending on what condition my other lights are in :D

Thanks Kev, nope still have the same G/F , shes been great through it all and very supportive towards my car becasue she knows how much it would mean to me to get it finished. I dont like taking pills at all. and im waiting on seeing my spinal surgon, i had a physio into the college the last day to follow me around and he said i have a great back, for a 80 year old :ugh not good, but he has ordered me a back brace and a supportive lumbar overseat for the car to hopefully improve my condition painwise, national heath here are crap, they just say "can we see the problem from the outside?" no, Then pain killers.... dont like doing fuck all for anybody, thats why when im finished college im going to invest money in a real surgon privately and see what they can do.

same chick, but ya, shes not afraid to assume the position :smug

So yesterday i decided the weather was sunny and why not do a few small jobs on the Celica! And that's exactly what i did....
i wanted to strip off the whole front end to get it ready to be stitch welded to stiffen things up a bit more so i toke of the grill and began removing the headlights, just so you guys know, i hope to be doing some more work on the car because i got this from my physio

    YESS!!! its a back support
    :D
And what a difference it can make!

I started by removing the headlights, took out all the bolts and removed the wiring at the back, as you can probably see some of them have sheered off, so i will need to get a tap and dye set and spend a few hours removing them... OH the joys! heres how it went

i removed the two top bolts (one was already sheered EACH side)

Then onto removing the bolt thats hidden under the motor on each side, to do this you must remove the battery to get into it, on the otherside you just need to have small hands.
    :naughty

Just under the Headlight on the side closest to the wing you will find two brackets , one inder the light and one connected to the wing.

Now remember to put a big piece of wood or something to hold up the bonnet because the bonnet bar os connected to the left headlight (facing car)

The headlights should just fall forward now, but they cant be removed yet, you must take off the connections to the headlight motors and remove the plug going into the bulb. Then the headlight can be removed

Then the Headlights can be removed. Now, i wanted to clear the front of the car so that meant removing the bonnet catch, horns and siren , oil cooler and Power steering cooler.
I had to remove this earth srap taht someone had put in before (obviously not original so its gotta go!)

I then removed the center piece and of course i had to sheer a bolt... when they get new bolts they will be all copper greased also

So Next i removed the power steering steel line and the oil cooler which was just sitting on top, it was just 2 12mm bolts

These are the best type of bolts to clean threads with, they have a groove cut to allow dirt to collect and this means it doesnt gather in the threads.

And now my front of the car was clear!

But there was signs of the front valance was replaced... so it had got a tip at some stage

And there are some small panel gaps which i will pull together when i stitch weld the front. cant wait now
    ;)

this car will be well finished before my back problems are gone im afraid, of course, getting out the engine is one of my next big steps hopefully ill get around to it in about a month or so, when the weather picks up ill then stitch weld the whole front and respray the front bay, i can do this myself because not many people will be looking at it. Just need to get a air compressor... im thinking about making a sheild for under the engine bay also but ill see how im fixed for money
