also, i've found with all my 4th gens that the oem intake is more responsive. aftermarket may provide more air at high rpm, but low end response suffers a lot.

I understand what you guy's are saying not saying you's are wrong but I still want to try it out from my understanding more air and more fuel get's you better power something like a turbo it's just making more air not that this going to come close to it just an example call me crazy South African it's fine lol.

I will be spraying it first with a non porus primer and then i will spray over it with waxoyl to prevent stone chips causing rust!

engine oil is a bitch to cleanup off paint and can cause reactions, but i will be spraying old engine oil in my sills of the car to prevent water damaging them! the intake will have a slight mod i want to put it in a place it can grab more air but not water like infront of the rad... that box at the side under the wing is only the resonator box! will be leaving it ther becasue it also catches water going into the intake.

i will be using the same standard air box but it will have a K & N filter and a larger intake pipe into it, i will have a full stand alone so it will be fine

you can try it, but my advice is , dont put it low on the bumper, have it it a high spot out the front of the car, i know this is what ill be doing becasu ei live in ireland and the last thing i want is for my intake to be all sealed up nice and tight for it to go into a puddle and turn into a giant pump and suck up all the water, you should also have a run off along the intake pipe to let any water that gets in OUT.

So, You all know that airbox behind the wing? turns out to be just a resonator box for the intake, the actual intake is up front behind the headlight on the battery side of the car.

That other box is just a resonator for the intake so i toke it of, i had to take it off anyway for when i spray under the wheel arch so now was a good a time as anytime.

You have to remove the main intake pipe before you can remove the resonator box, and as you can see the sealing foam has seen better days so i will be getting some fresh foam so i can get the most out of the ram air system ill be making later on.

There was two bolts holding on the resonator box, one underneath the main intake pipe and one behind the the bumper underneath the headlight.

No steve, ive had three slipped discs a few years ago and im constantly suffering from chronic back ache, which is probably why people keep saying when they see my thread "he only got the wing off?" but for me thats like a days work before i have to go back in and rest. Latest MRI results show i have 3 worn discs and two centralized buldges with trapped nerves that can cause me to get sharp shooting pain down the back of my left leg...

Id gladly work all day on the car if i could but i cant... I would probably end up in a wheelchair again if i went to a chiro, the chances of me healing ar close to none, its more than likely all downhill, an example of what it takes to cure the pain .... I have to take 6 tramadol which is a morphine based drug daily and the tramadol does sweet fuck all if i dont take them with diclac a difine type drug, i need to mix the two when taking them for the pain to ease any way at all.. so thats 2 tramadol and a diclac 3 times daily. for life. But i am tryin to get loads of pics.

This car is my project, and if i can finish it to the way i want it in the condition im in the looks on peoples faces will be shocked, and it would make me feel like im good for something also.

That's some serious shit there dude, I too feel your pain, we have some amazing surf beaches here and 3 years ago I was bodysurfing in the barrel of a beautifull 6 footer, I couldn't get out before the end and got hammered, my arm buckled and hit my head on the bottom and heard 2 cracks in my neck and have had trouble ever since with swelling and pain.... :aargh

Thanx for asking Sean but no treatment, really really f'k'n dumb on my part, I should have laid on the beach and let my bro ring the ambulance for a neck brace and traction board and let them take me to hospital for x-rays etc, but no, dickhead me brushed it off and went home, 6 months after the incident I started having issues which is now causing me too much grief and will have to go and have it looked at.

I'll bet I squisshed the edge of a couple of disks in my neck and may even have chipped one and I'll bet I'm going to have issues from the damage till death :aargh

In saying that and instead of being a drama queen I'll wait for the x-rays and diagnosis and see what the go is.

It's amazing how us humans sometimes think we're invincilbe.

Better to get them fused Sean, you can't use those drugs indefinitely
The diclophenac will eventually seperate your stomach lining and you bleed to death, (it's a form of Voltaren) - don't ask me how I know

ive made some stupid discisions like this too, your not alone.

yup... i was a paraplegic for 6 months, numb from the waste down even though i had movement which was strange. was fun trying to walk the dog with crutches :crazy

i have to numb the muscles by using phorpain gel ( ibruprohen ) when i can manage a doy or two without tablets. im waiting to see a spinal surgon to see what the best route would be, my Orthopedic surgon wants me to get an epidural every 3 weeks in the back ( yes its what they give pregnant women when giving birth.) i notice some stomach problems alright with the diclac, thats why im on more tablets to prevent my stomach breaking down.... I dont think my surgon wants to fuse my discs because of my age and i have nerve problems also so that could problably be why he didnt mention it, i could probably end up worse....

Thats my current supply... maybe 3 weeks worth. now, i might be wrong but for a 21 yr old that cannot be a good thing, and ive got a feeling it could get worse.

well , i hope so, lifes been pretty shitty the last few years so i need something to go right for me.
