the heating system has been gone for about a year now. and while the "no fog" stuff works ok, it's not good enough. this will keep the weight away while keeping the window clear.

i'm so angry. so appearently all my aero work is not legal for my class. and i can't switch classes without costing me about a grand.
so my solution...the rear wing will get quick pins. i can race with no wing. the canards have to go :sad5. there isn't a way around that. the the splitter i have to get sneaky with. as long as it doesn't protrude past the bumper (vertically), i can keep it. so it'll get a little smaller on the outside and much bigger on the bottom. with under body aero. but aside from that...
today was the first test and tune. i was 4 seconds slower than the monster gs vette (fastest car). and i was 6 seconds faster than my rival (someone else running fp)

also to note. i completely redid my timing map. WORLD of difference. i'm sure i lost a little power on the top end but the midrange is violent.

Yeah, I'm going to take a points hit by adding the airdam/splitter to my car, but feel it's worth it when I'm keeping so many other mods within the no-points added segment. Our cars have such a high bumper to lower body pinch weld difference that we are pretty much forced to upgrade the frontal area for airflow around the nose.

Here is some lite reading for you if you'd like to see the rules set I'm attempting to stay within........

and next month i'm getting the car wrapped. i'm tired of painting failures and i do not have a place to paint anymore. so i'm going to fix up the body and send it off to be done.

custom wrap or a plain colour?

    plain. nothing crazy

i've had a bit of a revalation. the car is just too powerful for what i do. obviously i won't turn it down. however, i will be changing the alignment to reflect it's power output. which means i'm going to remove .75 degrees camber on the front.

and ordered all new rear control and trailing arms. aluminum with heim joints.

back to a stock rear wing, front canards removed. i've changed tha liwgnment to make the car a bit more drivable.
    front camber: -0.8
    rear camber: -1.6
    front toe: -0.12
    rear toe: 0.2
    front caster: 4.2

i can accelerate better now. hopefully this doesn't hurt me too bad in autocross.

one day..you will have a stock celica again :p lol

but seriously...I think you will need to have some different easy to switch setups for street and trackdriving. I don't think there is a good way in between.

started the wing modifications on the mock up wing. i'll get pics monday.
started installing the defroster grid on the windscreen but discovered i'm missing a couple pieces. hopefully i'll get that done soon enough.
and my order from t3 should ship next week. i'm excited for that.
i ordered a new u-build it airraid intake tube system. so i can move my air filter...well...wherever i want.

the new alignment seems well. i can have a bit more fun...unfortunately i managed to screw up the alignment...so after the t3 order i'll be doing that again.

also, i was going to get the car wrapped...but now i have a friend who WANTS to dip the car. so i figure since he is so hard on about it...why not.

and now i've started building a new 4" intake tube. i've found the only way to clear the rad is to put the air filter between the core support and the splitter. seems like a good place. kinda behind the right lower brake duct opening.

Gents, i can't say enough good for this company. it's rare that you deal with a company that treats you like a person. as per my earlier post i was missing a few bits for the defroster install. i called them up today and they are sending me everything and more, for FREE! i even offered to pay and they would not except. if you have a need please take the time to deal with them:

It's a rare thing these days, mostly we're treated as just a job number.

and after a lot of thought, i will be having the car wrapped. not dipped. i need a professional job that will make me happy. hopefully that will be very soon. i hope to have the rear wing fiberglassed next week and then installed and painted on the racecar. then repair the 3 cracked fenders and a light touchup on the nose.

for the curious, that new wing started life as a 69 camaro ss high back wing.
