This. I still haven't had the time to take mine apart and attempt to resolder everything. I think I will change to red lighting at that point to match the gauges.

You can't open the windows when it's raining, the wipers feed water
straight onto your door panel & lap. My window switches are always wet

Wipers no difference between "normal" and "high" speed either

Stig, you sure your wiper speed stepper is working, coz mine fly at speed two, like they gonna take off :D

    ????
All 4 cars, hardly any difference....high is only slightly faster,
I have to go over 160km to keep the screen clean  (- that's what I tell the cops)
Maybe a UK motor is in order?

There's a white lightning at the yard, time to head back there?
    What's the Aussie version like?

Def something wierd then coz I really rate my wipers, even better than more modern cars such as pug 307s etc???

Me!!! I've never had a heating problem.

I'm a purest and agree that there are somethings that would've made more sense. But now this thread is starting to sound like a rag-fest on this awesome car. I really did ask myself why most of you are on the forum if there is so much bitching to be had. Come on guys, humor the old lady!

Dude, much as love these cars, none of us are blind to their fobiles..

Sometimes I wish I was working on an old ford or mini, you barely had to look at a part to swap it lol.Knowing there faults just makes us love em more, and to be fair a lot of the stock issues can be fixed  ;)

No car is perfect, and if there was one, I would not own it, where would be the fun, the challenge etc.

    +1, well said Rich

I enjoy taking something that has 20yrs of abuse and finding ways to extend it's life even further.

Even today not many cars are made like this, the era where cars were designed & built to last
2 or more decades is gone

Stig, nice find. Does the Gen5 harness fits perfectly, even the extended portion? If so, I'll have to get one, I'm currently using an old heater hose for my harness.

I'm only using the top section (an exact match) now, as using the bottom would mean
extending all the alt wires around the alternator.

I didn't check the bottom section but may still use it (may need modding?) for the aircon wires. My "new" 3 core Corona radiator has a 2 pin temp sensor down near the pipe as well (Far better as sensors can't "read" steam)
I think the GT4 has it there as well?

Amazing that the Gen2 head shows no chafing at all, I have a gen2 head here and
    the bracket is slightly different.
Let me know if you need a replacement

Update: Not enough room on GE gen1 for the lower section, GTE?

I definitely love these cars for their charisma and quirks. The main thing that irked me, and it's probably not exclusively Celica is the little plastic clip that goes between the rods on the inside of the door to the external handle...I replaced at least one every year I owned a Celica!! And they're a serious PITA to boot. I could get my stereo out quick and every car had been stripped bear internally except dash, driver seat and shift nob (in other words only what I needed to drive the car). Good way to clean up all the gunk and check for rust...I got quick at it and never figured the inside was all that difficult IMO :) ....try taking my van apart and put it back together...all day for rear compressor...two hours just to change an air filter!!! I'll take a Celica any day

Lamp Warning Indicator. Mine cuts on by itself on hot days, or if I use the brake the length of a red traffic light. I have no tail lamps out, yet this indicator insists that something is awry.

This is apparently a common issue in the bastard-child Supra too, esp. the MkIII. It is the Tail Lamp Failure Module, and it never seems to work properly except to poke you in the nose when it says your shoe is untied. Made you look.

I already have to stare at a constant CEL, this tail lamp indicator warning light is about to get a decapitated bulb. cuss
