Haha yes, that video is mine :hehe. Actually yes, inspiration from a 1UZ Corolla AE86, Celica as well especially, a 97' and 89' Supra 1UZ, an LS6 RX7 and 240SX and a Datsun Z with an LT1. I love the V8 sound, and the 1UZ is perfect especially keeping with the brand family. Plus one of the best things is confusing the hell out of any import or muscle car guys haha.

I'm like you though, I wanna put money into my car now as well haha

We want pics ! We want pics ! We want pics ! We want pics !

Haha Steve, sorry about the Wax in the sunshine :mrgreen I didn't leave out too long lol I think that was the last time I waxed her. CELICALITUS FTW

    -UPDATE-

Just got some HIDs and AutoPals from ST162rocket and a weapon R intake. Installed the HIDs last night.
There's a problem getting them both switched on. Only one would switch on. Probably because there's not enough charge somewhere. According to the volt meter my headlight lamp plug in has a short in it? Although the stock headlights work fine. Sometimes alternating between the Hi beam will get them both switched on. I've always wondered about my electrical system. All the lights seems to flicker everytime my stock stereo setup booms some bass. It's a weak system and it shouldn't be doing this right? The flickering is not too noticeable, but enough to say that it shouldn't be happening like this.

I've noticed the GE stock air filter has "plumbing" that's a bit bigger than the FE. Say if I exchanged my FE to the GE, considering the "plumbing" is bigger, would that be considered an upgrade? Or would I be disturbing the engine's...how do you say this...homeostasis?

the whole intake is different. the manifold is smaller and a smaller TB iirc. aside from the airbox (which i think is the smae size) they arent actually interchangeable

Yup the rubber hose. Maybe I could just grab a hose or something from an AutoParts store, just temporarily.

I see. I was just thinkin I could grab the right size hose to the throttle body and to the GE intake and install the weapon R intake.

Anyway, driving back home from school at night, my headlights would go out and sometimes only one would be left on. This would happen when I would slow down and stop at a light. My car also has been having an idling problem. Idles below what it should be and idles up and down like a big cammed muscle car and sometimes dies at a traffic light or driving up a driveway or even parked on a SLOPED driveway. So what i had to do was put the car and neutral, hold the brakes and rev the car at a traffic light to keep the car ALIVE and its headlights charged. Man this sucks :aargh lol Any suggestions

idle adjuster above the TPS? but if it idles up and down it might be something else

    I would assume vacuum leak.

I'm afraid it's because of the hid lights' bigger electric hunger :S The more electric power your car needs, the bigger the resistance of the alternator will be, and the harder for the engine to turn it. So the ECU has to know the current electric power consumption, to adjust idle properly. Try shutting off all electric stuff, and if I'm right, your idle will be fine again. The problem could be, that there is some part that eats electricity and the ECU doesn't know about it, or maybe old worn wires could cause it.

I'm not an electric expert so please someone correct me if I wrote stupid things :)

You'll have to show us how you wired the lights and your battery
Idle problem I think is vaccum/intake related

I see then radio was also affecting them? Do you get a charge light when all this is going on?

    Re: Hello from SoCal! Again!

This lumpy idling problem was before installing the HIDs. It has been doing this lumpy idling and dieing for about a little over a month. Someone else told to check my MAF sensor. Where is our MAF sensor?

And about the radio, all this happen before I installed the HIDs and everything. The radio lights would kinda flicker to the beat of a song. Sign of low charge? I've got a new alternator.

I installed the HIDs and plugged them into the normal plugin for the stock headlights. I'll snap up a pic in a bit.

Although I really suspect the engine is being choked or something( like you guys said the vacuum leak) and is struggling to help the alternator charge everything else.

    EDIT:

Here's a YouTube video of the lumpy idling.

    Re: Hello from SoCal! Again!

Which is why the charge problem has got me?? :sad

Could it be that HID need alot of power to start up and when switched on eat less power?

Whats the battery voltage? Should be 13V dead and 14.5V running

Def a voltage/current f/up somewhere. Where does the radio get power?
Is it crosswired live or does it go off with the ignition?
