    looking good

    on a side note

remember my sticky throttle idle?, what was it that you said to check on that?

the nut holding the throttle cable onto the throttle body. loosen it, pull on the cable, lube it up while moving the cable, find the sweet spot where it doesn't stick when you put the cable and nut back on

got a couple questions as im running a 205/50/16 right now unlowered, when lowered do they rub anywhere, i dont run spacers in the rear either

im about to buy eibach prokit wit agxs n gr2s, got 217k on my car think the top n bottom spring insulators and bump stops are good or did you buy all new that stuff? cuz im gonna get everything shocks, tie rod ends, ball joints, endlinks etc. would u let me use that rock auto code?

if you're not rubbing right now then you won't rub on the strut towers when lowered, because the whole thing lowers. however, i have the same tires as you and when i take a turn REALLY hard say 30mph 90 degree turn, my front tires very slightly hit the fender liner when the agx's are set to 1 (lowest/softest). iirc, eibach prokits drop 1 inch? so you might get away with it.

i changed only the bump stops and strut covers. my insulators were still good so i just reused it. 1362091010274038 is the discount code for rock auto!

yes they drop a 1 to 1 1/4 inch, are you running a lowering spring, also did you cut your bumpstops

thanks for the code waitin for taxes money to buy, should be any day i hope:D

also when i where this tires out going to a 205/45/16, hard size to find unless bought new

i'm running b&g springs, which drop 1.6 inches. i didn't bother to cut the bumpstops to avoid hitting the top of my fender too much, but if i can do it again, i would cut them. i had 205/45/16, it ddin't rub at all, but i prefer the 205/50/16 as it's more comfortable and it fills in the arches nicely. iirc rickstar22 also uses 205/50/16s

i too hit the front wheels on plastic liner like you said happens to you when you turn hard and fast, it prolly hits in front on my car becuz my shock are so shot they just bounce all over, and the rear on my car is only a sheet of paper or two away from touching spring perches

    updates!

i've had shitty start up times and high gear/low rpm pinging/stuttering
it seems to be that i've accumulated oil in the spark plug holes from oil changes/top up oil that's spilled into the valve cover valley. either that or i've been using the wrong spark plugs this whole time. the local store had been recommending NGK BCPR5EGP (platinum) for the 3S-GE, but I checked the BGB again and it was actually BCPR5EP11 (double platinum). not sure if that makes a difference but i've been cold starting perfectly and haven't had a single ping in the 400km's since the change.

also radiator started leaking so 2 core alu rad it is! shipped in 3 days and also flushed with toyota red coolant. it was a perfect fit, except needing to plug the hole for the st165 turbo and one upper rad fan bolt hole didn't line up

also received my st165 foglights/lower grille, but the foglights are currently being refurbished/polished and brackets made for it. however, i saw my st162 lip and decided to try out the PhantomJDM look of adding it on the st165 bumper. i kinda like it but it's way too low!!

Hmm, now that you mention it, I think I need to check/change my plugs as well. I'll make sure they're the BCPR5EP11. Thanks!

I've asked them to change that one upper rad fan bolt hole several times, even during the prototype phase. They assured me they would but never did once the sales started. I think I've made them a lot of money!

yeh i was following the canadian tire recommended plugs, and it's been wrong. if you get them, they're pricey at lordco (22/plug retail). soooo if you get them at rockauto, mind getting me another set? (6/plug)

Turns out I was running the wrong BCPR5EGP as per CT's spark plug guide as well. I'll be ordering some next month, as my 162 is off the road right now. I'll let you know when I'm gonna order. You're right, Rock Auto has the best price on those.

i did, but decided to save up, keep the celica as the winter beast (by winter i mean no snow, just cold weather), and finding a 90+ MR2-T for the summer. i feel bad racking up 22k km's every year on the celica. i got it at 227k and it's now up to 259k.
