Finally gotten started on the 2 cars and will have the '86 GT stripped completely this week, then will begin on the GTS. I'll post up some pics as I get started on the '88 and a few of the empty '86 awaiting it's new running gear.

Sounds like it's road trip time, so bring your tools and be ready to work for some parts. I'll try to have all the extra stuff out of the way to make life a little easier.

Word. Ill check with my dad and see when we can take a weekend and come down. Were you able to check the tranny by any chance?

I was unable to get the car started due to an electrical issue, but the shifter moves easily through all gears and feels nice and tight, no extra slop. Really wish I could get it started just to see for sure it's working like it should.

Ok! Im trying to decide if I need to get it rebuilt since it sat for so long. Also would a friday or saturday work best to come down?

A manual transmission usually isn't affected by sitting for a long time, a re-surface of the flywheel and new clutch pack will be all you need. It might be good to run fresh ATF in it for a short time then switch over to some type of synthetic ATF, that is if you experience no leaks from the trans case.

As for what day to come over, either day would be fine since I'm retired and don't have a part-time job just yet. Since there is some modifying involved with installing the manual setup, we will just concentrate on going through the removal piece by piece and take pictures of how each item comes off the car. Somewhere on here there is a step by step install of the pedal cluster and hydraulic cylinder to the firewall and running the lines to the tranny.

Send me a list of what you really need for your car and I'll make sure to hang on to as many of them as I can, maybe all and we'll just get together when you can.

spiedr0722, I can do the next 2 weekends, 9th and 16th, but I'm unsure past that since my Wife has not received her work schedule. She works on the road and doesn't get her schedule past a three week period of time, so I don't know when she'll be home for Thanksgiving, before or after.

That will work great, I'll see you guys then. I'll try to have most other items out of the way before you arrive to make removal a little easier.
