As promised to my friend Stig, here are some pics of my worldwide 4gen brochures collection. For today, and it's logical, I will begin by Japan. Surely the harder to find brochures... at least for me in Europe. Four original japanese sales brochures. GT-Four Red 2000 GT-R. The pink part on the left is a folder. Artistic picture, no? Full line, including 2000-ZR model. Never heard about. To be continued... Next time : Europe.
Yes...yes...yes, I miss netherlands brochures.... Do you have some? I'm especially interested by 86 and 87 years. Here are my european brochures. From left to right : - France 87 - Germany 86 - Germany 87 - Switzerland 86 - Austria 86
That my friend is a awesome collection! I'd like to see the spec sheets in detail, never seen a ZR either. Nothing on the AT160 model? ST163?, TEMS? What are the optional extras listed on the brochures? A few of those would make nice posters if you could scan them 1 Nomination for sticky
Hi Stig What is a st163..? :?:  For technical data, japanese brochures are by far the best ones. European ones are only advertisement and sales brochures. About TEMS, Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension yes, there is something about this, but it's in japanese. No scan for now, but I tried to make a picture with my GSM. Although it's a 8 million pixels, the pic is poor . Sorry.... TEMS. Optional extras page. Accessories 2000 ZR You're totally right -K Thanks a lot in advance, Lone Wolf
And North America... From left to right : - Canada 86 - USA 1st version (august 85) - USA 2nd version (january 86), only title differs from the above version. - USA 87.
JDM '87 GT-Four got same body than GT-R (and US GT-S, euro GT2.0 and aussie SX), except for specific front bumper. I love it this way because I do not like much the aesthetically heavy body kit and the lack of black trims on 165's.
Thanks Oxi I've seen plenty digital gauges but not on the site, people didn't believe me about the parking aerial etc. Looks like I have most of those options but there's always something else cropping up, I'll be looking out for the dash cupholders etc in future Only ST163 I've seen was an Oz "R" model with AT160 grey interior, FE, manual, manual window winders, electric mirrors, EGR valves - so possibly an interim model or emissions model. Pics are on my car page as well as my TEMS car. That's the only TEMS info I've seen sofar - (pity it's in Japanese) I have a translator nearby I had some digital gauges but gave them away when I heard the wiring was different? I have an original R/T but the Japanese FM frequencies are different so it needs an "expander" to work here. The "Team" rally cars didn't have a bodykit either, so the JDM 87 GT-4 is a more accurate replica, I suspect it has a viscous diff as well? It is the version most commonly found here in NZ. What I find really strange is that the JDM catalogs show cruise control, but in all the hundred's of JDM cars I've seen, none had it
No mention of any ST163 in Japan. 1986 line : GT-R and GT (3SGE equipped) : ST162 GT (4A-GE) : AT160 SX, ST and SV : ST160 1987 line : Apparition of the new GT-Four model (ST165). 1988 line : SV is no longer available and apparition of ZR model (ST162). JDM '88 GT-Four didn't get bodykit either. And some info about ECT-S
I'll have to get that translated but it looks like economy is with everything turned off. Mine is faulty somehow Bodykits were only available in Europe and America's Red interior only available in America's? or do you get them as well
damn nice collection, really interesting. The early JDM ST165s had a mechanical centre diff upto 1988, then they went to new viscous coupling on the centre diff, This was better at distributing drive in poor weathr and on poor surfaces. The GT-R was the only car given the option of the TEMS to start with, I think it was an option on the ZR later. any info on the ESC system which was a different form of ABS?? The ZR was only for the jap market, powered by the LASRE engine, ( the 16v 3s-FE, which was 3s-GE without T-VIS) it only produced 120bhp, it was designed to slot in under the 2.0 GT models and replaced the 1600GT in the line up. Any pictures of the 1989 special edition all black GT-R? that looks so mean!!
No, never seen a red interior here. Hello, I'm looking for UK's 4gen brochures for sale. Nothing on Ebay UK, so, if you have a link to find some....
