why are the parts numbers different between 86-87 and 88-89??
All im trying to do is get the part number agx`s for the front and gr2s for the rear.but I have a 86 st...There shouldnt be a difference between years/st/gt/gts chassis, maybes its a better shock? opinions and help wanted.

rear drum versus rear disk. all the front are the same.

i seem to recall that the gts i parted out's rear shock assembly were very much the same as my gt, maybe the only difference is in the valving of the gts.

i also believe you are right, but there may be different valving as well due the the heavier GTS and sportier suspension.

I just paid $380 Canadian for 4 kyb gr2 struts. They had a buy one get one 1/2 off sale. I still have to buy my lowering springs and alignment kit....and most likely do the poly bushings while I'm under there. But you got a damn good price

Well after jeff installed his pro kit i would go with B&G suspension. The eibach spring keep the stock spring rate. So you still have the stock body roll.

i don't think body roll is a spring problem. you guys might want to research a little more.
