...not to mention silly little things like emission control pieces, inner fenders, and things of the like. with the rabbit, if it didn't make it faster it's removal made it lighter.
Our inner fender's hardly weigh a thing, maybe a pound for all 4...lol But at least you're being creative... I personally say take the back liftback right off...that thing probably weighs' a ton.... And if you really wanted to be crazy, get yourself an extra set of door's and gut them, and use them for race day!
I'll ask the dealer I work with maybe we do have somethin up here in Canada....you gotta remember it's a colder up here so the need for a/c for everyone isn't a priority haha
If you want to get really crazy, you can strip the car right down to the shell and start from scratch. Plexi windows are lighter than glass, no carpet, underpad, or glue. Remove all the excess wiring for things you dont need in a race car, radio, heater hoses and such. Then the key is putting it all back in the most effective way possible. Where do you need fluctuating weight, where can you put static weight...balance, as in anything else in life, is the key.
theres a video somewhere of a rediculously weight reduced Sentra, they basically took the otrch to everything not required to make it drive.
There was an article on the web at one point about that. I think they ended up with a really extremely cut up sentra that ran 13's in the quarter, but there truely wasn't much left of the car.
