    They walk amongst us!
I woulda hid all the non metric spanners and sockets and double checked everything they touched,
but I'm just paranoid that way.

Pity, I had 2 spare blocks, cranks, heads etc. Plan is to keep one built motor spare

Still interested to see that crack

Yeah, can't hide the tools, they're great big organized snap on boxes...really nice, but doesn't help when a dumbass is using it LOL! They caused me to have to cut a sway bar link off the strut. sheesh.

I'll get pics of the cracks today for you guys

Alright, here I am about 6 months later. I promise I'll get a pic of the block up here for you guys! She's been sitting snug in the garage all this time, but I haven't touched her. John's telling me to get off my butt and out there working with her so I don't lose faith that she'll be running soon!

Anxiously awaiting the 'new' block from Mafix (lifesaver) and am auditing engine repair class in spring so I can go in and do all the work I want without worry of tests and such! Woohoo! My goal is to drive her home by the end of the semester :driving :fingersx :drool5

    Yeah, I agree with John

seriously if you were closer you woud've had the two perfect blocks I dumped
plus heads, cranks and other valuable but of no more use to me bits.

I'm glad you haven't given up, sometimes I'm sure a$$%oles and setbacks are just
there to see how determined we are

Thank you all :) I'm not going anywhere, even if there are setbacks LOL

I may soon be looking for a new head. I'm getting mine checked out as my partner last spring was rather aggressive with it. :eek:hnoes Cross your fingers for me, I'm going to get out there and start getting things cleaned up and ready :crazy

Picture 007.jpg old block isn't pretty, but the cracks are between the yellow paint lines from bolt hole to water jacket (I'll clean it up and get better pics). New block... Picture 003.jpg This crack you can actually see. There are two of them. Marked by pen dots on each side (pic is of one of the cracks).

Keep on it :D no pain no game. But when you're driving that car of yours and everything's finished, you'll want to drive it even more lol. I know I do, even though I can't stop driving it.

Thank you, and I'm trying even though I'm about close to tears (not afraid to admit that). My husband gives me a pat on the back and says "don't give up, I won't let you". Then asks what it would take to buy a good running 3sgte engine to put in the car until my 'strong' engine is built...sigh...

Keep at it...I parked mine 5 years ago after I blew my turbocharged 3SGE... About 2 months ago I just put the project back into high gear. It will be on the road by summer.

Damn this sukz, I'm throwing away heads and blocks because I can't afford to store them and nobody here wants.

Hang in there Brandy, you could even use a 5S block if you wanted to

Thank you Mafix. I'll look forward to the pm's. And it's too bad shipping would be so expensive Stig, all those parts....

I need to get my own house where I can store stuff, even if it means digging holes around the garden which is daunting coz you never know how many bodies the previous guy already stored there.

There's another S/African guy here who has a d/garage & basement full of MR2 parts, he's going back soon and asked if I want the stuff - anybody got a spare Tardis?

    ^LOL!

Question: Will a 2nd gen 3sgte (ebay) drop in relatively easy? Or are serious or tricky mods required? What about my other options, a 5sfe as Stig stated... I will still be building the original project, but getting her up and moving will allow me to relax a little...We've also considered dropping in a Subi H6...yeah, yeah...I know...but I DO plan on owning more than one celi, so ya never know LOL!

A gen 2 will drop in is pretty straight forward if you are just going to drop it in and run it as is.(youre in better shape to start with since you already have an all-trac) You will have to extend the harness. Most of the gen2's on ebay are JDM and for RHD. Just make sure you really check out who your buying from. When I bought my gen 2 from ebay, the damn oil pan was full of water which would have required a tear down whether I was planning on it or not( I was anyways so not a big deal).
