those are smaller than stock. stock cams should be rated at 244 at .040. FYI. those are some strange regrinds. with a lot of ramp.

the more i look at your cam card the more confused i get. what the hell do you have? and for that matter who the hell did it?

    delta. ill call and ask.

-looks to me like more lift, less duration. maybe to prevent valves from hitting each other??? just a guess.

hell if i know. i do believe your overlap is way too small as well. i'll have to talk to pat about it. he knows way more. but i think NA overlap should be in the 200s.

Those numbers don't look right :eek5 Gen1 is 240 deg and the inlet should be 5/55.
Even the GTE's have 230 deg+ duration, so I agree with Mafix, looks like the cams are restricting airflow
    to/from the head.
Stock specs listed here - http://st162.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=6934&p=94731#p94731

Any chance you can take a pic of the old/new next to each other?

What worries me is that with a steeper ramp and more lift the effect is for the cam lobe to try
push the bucket inward instead of pushing it down.
(For Kelfords I'm looking at bigger buckets or a gen2 head for this reason)
The Gen2 motors have bigger buckets to reduce this effect even though lift was only increased +/-1mm
and duration increased by 4 degrees

I've had to increase jetting to compensate for more flow, one would expect this motor to lean out
at higher rpm but it's the opposite.
Also the drop at 6000 is unexpected, normally associated with retarded timing or cams

Pity you can't get #09 on there for a direct comparison?

-ok i emailed delta, we'll see what they have to say.

-either way the next expedetures gotta be paint/body. im almost to embarrased to drive it now. my dyno sheet did not help at all.

-if something ends up needing to be done about the cams an entire re-think may be in order. if i have to pull the cams and re-shim, i feel like i might aswell upgrade the entire head....that puts me half way to a beams motor or gte.....wtf......

-i think seeing a few 600+hp civics really pissed me off. plus the "oh and this one should be over 1000".....wtf..... :aargh :aargh :aargh

-auto-x'd it this weekend, held up nice. 2nd slowest on the day, but took lots of penalties for missed gates/cones. trying to get my brain tuned into looking for cones rather than following cars or a track is a bit tougher. needs good tires pretty bad, but am waiting till after paint to select tire/wheel setup. have an appointment tomorrow to have a guy look at it for paint. once i work through those ill get back on things like the cams, ect. having issuses with getting a hold of delta.

Re: jwagner's project: "the dog" getting ready for paint an

-ok, stripping trim ect for paint. will probably get it in next week. windshield and rear glass will be pulled, rust spots fixed and resealed. then a full strip, body and paint.

-this is gonna take a few weeks to get it done and all back together. but will be well worth it. should be around $1500

-in other breaking news, and a major impulse buy. i found something on c.l. that i couldnt pass up. its an idea that im sure we've all had at one point or another. and i got it super cheap. this will take quite a bit of work and $ and might not even work, but hey nothing ventured.......right.

-as just a start, id need some type of fuel control. custom pulleys, custom mani adapter, brackets, and probably a boat load of other stuff. this is really a long term type thing that may or may not even happen. I do think that staring at this thing will be alot of motivation though.

-from what im seeing on mr2oc, it would seem the stock pistons/rods are good to around 200hp, so hopefully they can handle it. with the stock pulleys it puts out 7.5 psi into a 1.8l 10:1 (1zz-fe) motor. so should be a bit less on mine.

    -heres pics.

Nice, do the ports & bolts line up? or you may need an adapter plate.

Good on these is you can "gear" them for higher/lower pressure, but I think
you need GTE type pistons and injectors for it to make any reasonable power

Re: jwagner's project: "the dog" getting ready for paint an

-the ports are close but smaller and a bit closer together, so yeah a plate will be needed. i figured tvis will get ditched anyway. i still have yet to check pulley alignment vs. ports, so may have to have a bit of "curve" to the plate. will be close on firewall clearance aswell. the thing is pretty massive and the manifold and housing are a single cast piece. i was hoping the manifold was seperate.

-good things about it are that the 1zz rotates in the same direction, and these types of chargers can be "rolled" in any position. only the nose has oil and its self sealed. so i can roll it into were the intake mani is like in the 2nd pic.

-also i figure worst case my 16y.o. little sis just inherited my grandmas old 03' corolla for her first car. :hehe

Re: jwagner's project: "the dog" getting ready for paint an

-i really wanted to change the title to "f*ck rev!" :hehe :hehe :hehe but really love the idea of itbs aswell.
-im thinking maybe a piggyback might do it? s-afc or something. not sure yet. i think the biggest hurdles will be just getting it to fit. its a pretty massive unit. i did realize today that i can use the dog's old motor for a mock up. i can use that to get an adatpter made up or mod the outlets, and get the pulleys right. i think some frame mod may also be in order to get a spot for a belt to pass. i also need to figure out exactly what all the different nipples ect on it are for, so i can see what all it needs. its not an easy bit to find info on. it was never actually made for celicas, as it wont clear the hood, and the celis have a 1zz-fed (different injection(?)) theyve been made to work, but even more rare than seeing one on a rolla. the greddy system is more common on celis, but uses a smaller charger.

-k.yang. yep belt driven. no pulleys on it now but you can see where it should go. the original pulley is about the diameter of the neck.

-k.byrd. youll have to design me a "/c" for the rear viynl. that way when its done itll be the first GT-S/C :shock

hmmm depends what you want. SAFC wont do shit.
realistically i think getting anything other then a standalone for a supercharged setup would be silly. If you wanna go piggyback you will need to go to the high end scale anywayz, more toward like a greddy e-mannage ultimate or something. realistically you wanna be able to ditch the PIA AFM

full standalone jon... its too big of a mod to be playing with a piggyback.
