Above the reverse light is only a prism.
The fog light is in the inner side of the lamp.

Why only one side?
I looked at some euro pics and it looks like the euro only has one dual filament bulb on the outside of the reverse light.
Ours has 2 dual filament bulbs on either side and place for an extra bulb in the centre.

Pretty easy to mod either way, I prefer having 2 lights and 2 brake lights on either side in case a bulb blows you still have another light or brake working

I think it's time to take pics, create a thread and compare them directly. I noticed when I did the swap
the plugs were a direct swap but the facelift harness had a few extra wires which are no longer used and no, I don't have a check light either.

I did take pics but they were too dark to see properly so will have another go

 

just did the mod to mine! what a coincidence... the only difference is that i made it both of them in stead of just one. safety precaution? i honestly didnt know if it was just one or not

 

Really!?!? because I have at least two sets of Euro lights. I'm going to have to search for that box!

How is the mod performed?

 

I guess the law here says the cars must have at least one rear fog light, and they don't bother to put the other one there.
Even new cars have it that way, and some even has only one backing light, and the fog light on the other side.

 

I am mistaken, the extra bulb location is to the outside of the light, not above the reverse light

Lion, you are correct. Even my 84 Alfasud had only one fog light in the bumper, I bought another and hooked them up as extra brake lights

This was one of my favourite cars, 900kg with unbelievable handling and fed on a diet of Golf GTI's.
I fitted 6 brake disks, 33 mirrors and rear suspension, Autodelta rims, custom ratio box and heap of other stuff,
maybe I should get Fernando to fetch it for me as I hear it's been standing outside.
