Great example of why you needed that bar - the unibody flex. Jack it up, bolt it on and you'll be good -K
i think your car is crooked, as it it was hit at some point in its life. . or the one ond of the bar is just bent up..
i havent tried to bolt it on while on the jacks. i yet to do that. but i dont have the cetner bolts for it. still waiting on mafix to send them. or could i get some at the store? not too sure. might need a certain thred. my body might be crooked because i rear-ended a truck going 30 mph. dunno though
problem solved. thanks to 89celicagt and thank you to Celic_GT2 for the suggestion that my car might have been crooked. although i did have to force it in. now i'm just missing the center bolts. when i do get them, i'll install it with confidence. special thanks to MAFIX for supplying the strut for me.
No prob. I hope your car isn't all out of wack either from the accident or not having that bar there for an unknown amount of time :? eeek The bolt head is a 14mm, here's a photo
ok cool. i was sorta thinking that they would be 14mm because the bolts for the top of the suspension thing is 14 also. do you think i could buy some at any hardware store?
hit up a brofasco, the'll have them in grd 5 (grd 8.8 in metric) i just always replace old bolts with stupid strong bolts like grd 8 (10.8) and up
Probably, looks like just a normal bolt and washer to me. Make sure the threads are the same, and don't cross thread them it by accident. Here's a better photo:
thats a class 6t 14 mm hex head bolt, with a 10-12mm..(cant measure a picture) diameter and a thread pitch of 1.25mm go buy that.
yeah i'm having a hell of a time getting those bolts. i've got like 10 buckets of bolts to go through.
dang, its cool MAFIX. i got them. managed to find some in my back yard. thanks a lot though for going through all that trouble getting the parts to me. many thanks. it looks great in my car.
heck yea. it used to feel like i would flip when i would take turns hard. lucky you guys that it came stock. now i can drift! sorta-kinda
keep poppin the ebrake and you wet the tires enough, its not a full on drift, more like a power slide. it will tear the shit out of your ebrake.
OH i beg to differ, i can get my buddies corolla, full sideways, and hold it. i could keep it going but the 1zzfe cant power it. with ebrake down...
lol i would like to see that. been in my friends civic in a power slide, it is definitely more fun in a cressida. hahaha
its quite good actually. . . get her up to speed hit the ebrake quick, get her sideways, and hold it for as long as shes got the balls to keep going, doesnt help shes an auto too hahah that poor car..............
oh man, drifting in a fwd car is fun! i have yet to try it in a rwd car! i think i might later on in my brothers 82 celica. but when i did do it without the strut it was horrible when i recovered. horrible.
