@ Kevin, thanks. I remember doing lots of reading before joining this site and remember the picture of Tems and the Rocket on your next page but not the cut out switch, I must not have been thinking about installing one at the time. I'm also going to do that rear parcel/privacy shelf of yours, there is nothing wrong with mine but I want to keep it original and make a new one for speakers. I'll go with the Alu Composite board (ACM), I'v never even heard of the stuff, where would I buy it ?

I have decided to install the fuel pump cut off switch, this is the better of the 2 especially if my car catches fire ( GULP ).

Any of you here that don't have one of these installed should consider it, I mean, HOW EASY IS IT...... this has to be one the simplest anti theft devices on the planet and I already have the switch/wire/solder/soldering iron/shrink-cord and spade connectors from when I installed them on other non yota cars via the coil, BONUS.


@Shaun, I just did some googling on the Ford Focus RS500 and WOW, these things are off the chart :twisted, AWSOME. I don't think we got them over here, I live across the road from a Ford dealer and always nosing around but don't recall seeing any in the showroom at the time. Surely there were some private imports :scratch. We did however, get the Ford Focus XR5 Turbo, it was gnarly but nothing like the RS500.

Took my car for testing the other day, the mech called saying they couldn't get it started and sure as nuts someone had switched the park light off.
I told him to try switching the park lights on and he just laughed

It has other uses too:
My compression is too high and unless I spin the motor 1st it will wack the bearings for a few seconds.
Ever seen how fast a fuel leak can destroy a car? Kill the fuel and save the car

It's used by all sign shops nowdays as it's light, stong and weatherproof, your local signshop will have offcuts

 

got one spare key hanging in the house, came home bout 2 weeks ago and gf said i got suttin to tell u but dont get mad, anyway she took the car and ran chores wit it and i didnt even notice till i went to sit in it cuz the seat wasnt the same...haha

WOW, sorry to hear about that nate. I'd be pissed. this may scare me into actually getting some security setup for my car once its up again. since my battery and engine fuse box are within reach i usually just pull the efi fuse and throw it in the ashtray.

-i do think i have a spare front splitter bits if you need anything. just pay the ship.
