I had this happen too, g/f's son was joyriding my car at night and tried to race one of my friends who called me at 3am.

Since then the keys are kept next to my bed and all my cars are alarmed
    Learn from your mistakes

Yeah, this sort of shit sucks.

It's amazing how some family members or freinds of the family think/assume that they have a right to use you car/stuff....... YEAH RIGHT....... RESPECT is all I have to say to that.

I'v had 2 cars stolen over the years (not my celica) and not by someone I knew, after that I started installing my own kill switches on my cars via the coil.

I know this is going to sound lame but the principle is the same........ I came home one day to find my nice push bike had been 'borrowed' by a guy I knew but not well enough to ok it. I spat the dummy face to face and hav'nt seen him since, PRICK. And of course the bike needed some repairs/adjustments :aargh

BTW, my celica has a thick (and I mean THICK) chain and padlock which goes through the steering wheel and under/through the seat frame, it only takes a few seconds to hook up.

I would prefer a kill switch but I'm not sure how to do it on my Celica, could someone please help me with how to do this ?, can anyone recall if there is a thread or some sort of guide here for one of those, just a simple switch setup is all I need, Thanks.

    @Stig, what's a pump switch ?

I would be extremely pissed. Didn't ask permission, stole the keys, drove the car, and came back with it damaged. Good thing he brought it back but that was very *&^@# up. Let him pay for the damages. On the other hand, could've been worse.

Wouldn't you be f**ken pissed! I used to get pretty shitty about my missus' little brother playing games and deleting stuff off of my computer without even asking me, can't even imagine my rage if he took my celi for a joyride. Especially since he is 6 years old :ugh

Nah, I wouldn't stand for anyone stealing anything of mine. I loathe f**king thieves. I'd be straight on the phone to the cops.

I used to live in a small town of about 600 people and never had anything stolen ever, we used to leave our doors unlocked, nobody locked their cars etc. then when I went away to boarding school I was actually SHOCKED that people stole from other people. It was just something that I'd never experienced, I had to lock my cupboard up with a chain and padlock and even then some thieving shit would pry the back of my (chipboard) cupboard off with a steel ruler just to take a couple of packets of noodles and some lollies.

Since then I have no problem causing bodily harm to anyone trying to steal anything.

my friends and family fear me enough not even to think about it :). Fear I mean in relation to my celica :). I raise my friends/family good :p

but seriously...put him in jail for a night, maybe he learns something.

Hmmm......all this sounds new to me, but if a member of the family wanted to borrow something, surely the logical step would be to ask

You would think so steve . That's what any resectable person would do .
But some as no respect for any 1 or thing and takes what they want

Take my ex wifes brother who stole my RS500 . He was on well lets just say elegal substance
He would take steal anything to feed his habbit . And yes i did have him arrested and he done time for it .
After all i didn't work hard pay out good money on a car for someone to take and smash it up .It did cause a bit of friction with the ex but hay he had to learn
he wasn't taking stealing from us and geting away with it

I guess we've had to many database crashes and site moves, it doesn't even have the links for the pics anymore, I'll try and fix it later this week

Here's what your looking for, pull up the back seat and you'll find 2 plugs. The yellow plug is for the fuel pump, you can splice your cutoff
switch into either of the wires on the left side of the plug, I chose the blue wire labelled "1" but the white wire will work just as well since
your just trying to break the circuit.

an alternative to a fuel pump cut off would be to cut the power to the coil, it's just a 2 wire plug on the coil
1 wire is 12 volts and the other is a ground, once again you could put the switch on either wire.
