these rule were enforced upon L,P1 and P2 drivers of aust (and NZ by the looks and sounds of things)

they state that while your on a Learners or Provisional license, you arent allowed to drive a forced induction car (turbo/SC) or any high performance V8 (and i think high end V6's but thats pretty lenient i think) i say high performance because we can still drive V8 4x4's and such as they arent necessarily fast...

its basically because too many young drivers behind the wheel of fast cars were involved in accidents causing deaths...

i suppose its good in a way, but instead of banning the fast cars, they could have made it harder to gain the license in the first place. or if you wanted to drive a faster car, you have to do extensive driver training maybe?

anyways, im straying WAYYYYY off topic.... my bad !

i say keep the car man! restore it, look after it, maybe even throw a few performance parts into the equation while the rebuild is happening?!

wow..thats crazy..smart but really what young kid has a "fast" car..a 3sge powered car even heavily mod'd and built isnt gonna be that quick.

Sprey16..We are pretty much in the same boat, if you want i can Pm you my build list and if you have the money [while staying n/a] you should have around a 1800 hp car.

Just because the car doesn't have FI or a V8 doesn't mean it can't be fast.

My tundra should run 14.8's in the quarter BTW(not bad for a 5k+ pick-up truck). And its a 4x4 with bigger than stock tires.

IMO if youre not pullin 0-60 mph in the 4-5 sec range..It aint fast..
Anything slower than that is hmm. . . peppy

If your car is pulling 0-60 in 5 seconds, it's not a yota anymore, it's a Ferrari! lol

I am under 7 seconds 0-60. plus I have a light weight flywheel yet to be put on which will complement the intake and full exhaust well. I want a low 14 seconds in the quarter. even 14.5 is fine with me. some wider, sticker tires may help because 1st burns at WOT.

    Sorry...180 hp..my bad..

I have more than a few freinds that have cars that pull 0-60's in the 4 sec range..

and one of them is a toyota .. 7mgte Supra

But most them are blown v8's and very built turboed v6's [grand national-regals]
