Well worth a try lololol- Does Canada have one of those clean air assitance programs???

California has one where if you fail you First test you can apply for a CAP and they will pay for $500 for the cost of getting the vehicle to pass smog, bu you have to take the vehilce to a State Certified Smog shop !

And if they cant get it smoged the state will give you $1000 to buy a new car!!! :!:

 

Nice. I don't even think my county has emissions regulations. Probably because 75% of our population drives old pickups. So I could gut my catalytic conv. if I wanted to. I think I will.

There's a $450 repair cost limit thing for the Celica.

But it ONLY applies if the car has passed the e-test at least once while in your name, and has had plates, in your name.

Since it hasn't, I'm not eligable....

So yeah...my temp plate is up tommorow, it's mt 4th one and last one, I've got plates on the car but the sticker's from 06 lol...so hopefully a cop doesn't tail me!

 

Whats up with your car that it can't pass the e-test? I would think with an older car they would be a little more lenient.

 

Well I'm assuming it's the catalytic converter...it's a ceramic filled pos in between the resonator and the muffler that changes emmisions from co2 to o2 or something like that....


I'm pretty sure mine's shot...I priced one out at $81, direct fit, that I'll be getting in a couple weeks when the funds are available but until then, hope I don't get pulled over!

 

I have had alot of yards tell me the Insides of the Cat- are made of Platnium not Ceramic- But hey it looks like Black screen to me lolol

Rye- have you taken the Cat off and try to clean it???

Hell clean any and all filters- have you checked the EGR Filter- Makes me want to come out there and help you !!!

 

cleaned air filter (k&n) new fuel filter, new o2 sensor, oil change, new GAS lines...fuck

the cat is almost all that's left

the egr is as much as the cat and the cat will make it pass even if the egr is fucked so I might as well just get it....

well the lightnings have just a "little" bit more horsepower than the base model...

I went against another sierra today but he cheated, a car turned left opposite us at the advanced green and I was in the outside lane so the car cleared his lane first and he was ahead of me by a car length, I caught up to him, so he still sucks, haha

Just uh, fair warning: If anybody in a new Accord V6 Hybrid wants to race, unless you are packing GTE power or a seriously tuned GE, don't bother. Those cars are fucking fast. I could not believe how fast that car shot off the line.

 

yeah 4cyls don't usually stand a chance against v6's...unless they're stupid heavy cars....
