K guys the wife is wanting it fixed or sold and replaced soon. I've found someone to sell me a ST165 rolling frame (with LOTS of extra parts) for $1500. I'm moving into a new house next week and just put all of my money into that. I have started up a gofund me account to try and raise some money to help with the cost of fixing the car. If I do buy this rolling shell I will have my old shell to sell to make up some money as well as lots of parts. If you can help you can donate here http://www.gofundme.com/dhgrag If you are interested in my wrecked shell or any other parts let me know, if I know that I have someone interested in the old shell of my car it will make it easier for me to spend the money on the new shell.

sorry to sound desperate but I am lol I dont want to lose this car after all the work I've put into it. 10509608_10204595329063599_45064553322276770_n.jpg

1500 to buy new shell or 500 to buy all the parts to fix it.......... easier for option 2...... you can fix the weld later, yes not the safest option but the least pricey. just take the front apart and grab a chain and take another car and move the core support back to where it needs to be..... fix the hood and headlights and replace the rad.....good to go until you can fix the weld.

it will be ugly but who the fuck cares really..... it will just get you going to get it completed....shouldnt take more than a day to do it really and if you want help ill help out. i even can get a parts car for ya down here and haul it up there for the gas money. my time will be free....... i dont know how to weld but maybe someone near you does. i know i have a friend but not sure if he'd want to come.

    Honest opinion.

My kids ride in this car so only the safest option will work for me. If I can come up with the 1500 I would definitely prefer to go that route. And then I can sell you my wrecked shell and the gen 2 engine that comes with it lol you seemed so interested in buying it.

well all you would need to do is find someone to weld the support back together once you move it to make it safe. . honestly i really dont want it...... id buy it only to save it really...... it doesnt seem to be that much of a project to fix is why.

If I can come up with the money I would definitely prefer to get the shell especially when you consider the fact that getting the 165 bumper cover will probably end up costing me an arm and a leg. I found one made by gt4-racing.eu but it would cost $580 shipped. Add that to everything else and I'm looking close to a thousand dollars anyway. Plus with the parts that the shell comes with I can make back a fair bit of money by selling them and I would have spares of any parts I wanted to keep.

I think you may have missing a grand point of having better insurance out of this as well......honestly a few more bucks a month doesnt hurt.

I think you don't know my situation and need to keep your opinions to yourself. I'm kinda sick of hearing what's best for me come from you. I'm sure I can handle my own situations without you telling me what is smarter or easier

opinions are opinions.......take it how you like...., you come on here asking and you get answers or opinions.....

no need to be a jerk.

and ive never said whats best for, just gave you options..... its not like you told your whole life story so how could we know all the little details.

I was trying to point out that having collision is a great option due to not having to deal with situations like this.. (finances).... yeah i couldve worded it different but i didnt and thats my fault.

    anyways GL

I'm sorry for being rude man. I don't want to be that jerk that no one likes and I definitely don't want to burn any bridges. This past week has been pretty rough, I began a temporary assignment on Monday at work and now I'm starting at 5:30 am (which is normally the time I get off work) I had my accident that same Monday, and I'm moving in 3 days. It's been pretty stressful. Reading back through what I said I realize how rude it was, I just wanted to say sorry and I hope there are no hard feelings.

I'm trying to get a shell right now for 1500 so that I can swap my engine swap over to it but I'm not sure if that's going to happen

    Sorry for your loss
Don't try to fix everything in a day, you are under a lot of stress and that's understandable.
You did apologize and that's all that's needed

    Alright guys UPDATE time!!!

I have gotten the core support mostly straightened out thanks to ratchet straps and lots of body work hammers (courtesy of my brother in law). I ordered a new 2 row radiator off of ebay (Hooray upgrade!!!) only to find out after I paid that the seller didn't actually have it anymore....Refund pending....so this weekend I'm going to be purchasing some angle iron to weld in for some additional supports and once the radiator gets here we will make any fine adjustments needed to the core support...I will post pics in a couple hours after I get home from work (and wake up) This is likely going to just be a temporary fix until I can afford a new body to put my swap into...or it may just stay the way it is....we will see. I've also been looking into maybe a Camry alltrac to swap into that way there is more room for the kids....and it is MORE sleeperish!! ;)

Also my brother in law is helping me to fix my intercooler piping...the way it was before I had to cut a support out of my hood for it to close all the way and it still dented my hood...So we are going to find a way to route it that won't cause that. If anyone has any ideas for how to route it or any pictures of well routed intercooler piping please let me know!!

Thanks guys for all your support and encouraging words. It has kept me going!!

    Also Flatliner again I'm sorry.

Thats awesome! So it was only the rad support? I thought the frame rail was toast?

im glad you were able to see the life in your 165 again....... once you weld in your core support you are good to go....adding extra braces helps but i wouldnt worry about replacing the shell anytime soon.

So change of plans. I found a ST162 in my area for $300 bucks...I'm going down to look at it in the next 2 days hopefully. The body is in great shape (engine is leaking oil and has water in the oil) so I will take all the bits i need and swap them to my alltrac. We decided to go this route because it was going to be about $300 bucks for everything I need from the wreckers anyway (hood, headlights, corner lights, bumper, quarter panel etc.) I'm planning on just using the stock 162 bumper for now and maybe cutting it up a bit to get better air flow to my intercooler, advice wanted on that btw!

    OR

I also found a 2001 camry that popped up for sale in my area for $500...yes I would be losing the AWD but it would be 4-door and one hell of a sleeper! could you imagine a mustang getting beat by a stock looking camry! LOL anyway back on track. the body of the camry may need a little bit of work and I would have to convert it to manual so that may not happen. but the biggest reason it may not happen is because I can't stray away from the gen4 celica. I'm absolutely adicted to it...I can see myself owning at least one (if not more) for the rest of my life lol

I'd skip the ST162 chassis as you'd still be stuck with FWD. If that 01 Camry runs, I'd just take that for now as is.

personally id do the 162, cuz you can then sell the parts if it has parts others need and then scrap the shell for almost 300 cash.
