My ride :) ST162 April 1986, ST165 R.I.P. Engine kept !

Early mai the ST162 will go to a professional cleaner and gets polished completely. In preparation I removed everything which is to be removed for the bodykit install:







I didn't need to remove the taperests as they will do that for me Can't wait now untill the bodykit is on!

 

The 3s-gte has to wait untill winter, or spring next year.... I am getting married in august and most fundings go to the wedding untill then. After the wedding (and honeymoon of course) I need too save cash again to buy me new parts on the engine. I'm lucky enough to have it allready in my garage from my old st165 so including al parts needed .

And spring is better, putting in the turbo in wintertime is a bad idea as we all need to testdrive it afterwards and it's slippery in those times .

Enough plans, never enough fundings And after the wedding I also need to focus on what parts I want on the engine as well.

last weekend we did a slipcourse with the club ! Hell lot of fun!!



all was done with other cars, only last hour we used our own cars. But after 2 runs the engine died....I got so much water under the hood the ignition decided it was enough.... After 15 minutes of sun it worked perfectly again.

Got the car back from the polisher

I put on the new sprayed mirrors and doorhandles. Ow and re-assembled the new frontbumper hopefully next weekend I'll be able to start building up the Alltrac kit.

Unfortunately the foglights on the pics won't fit, the brackets are real shitty... so I'll start searching for new/other ones (help?).

Also this plastic grill in which the lamps are have been cut and I'm going to get another one without cuttings

 

I plan on using the original holes and besides of that 3M double adhesive tape. this is a direct fix so I have to do it in 1 time exactly right . I left all iron things from the inside out of it, so it doesn't weigh much anymore. Combined with the tape and screws on original screwholes it should be a good tight fit.

Just for the doorpanels I have to think... I'll drill 2 holes in the door, the upper most outside pins will be replaced with bolts so bolt on to the door and the tape again. Should hold perfectly.

I hate decalls, the one on the windshield will go too before the wedding. That was just for advertisement for my club

I do wear the ST162 Shirt today to work....is that ok too?

 

Today I put on the painted alltrac frontbumper

There a some minor things I need to change, like the aircollector at the right side in the pic, does anybody know what it does? It just blows air under the bonnet...

Rearbumper is off as well, tomorrow the new one on there is a little rustspot what I can get rid of now as it's off as well
