lowered at front

as i was changing my brake pads on the weekend, it came to my attention a little tag wrapped around my 'yellow' springs at the front saying King Springs, not sure what type they are, for eg, low, super low, etc. and not sure how to find out either. my main question is, how would it affect handling etc having lowered at the front only, it appears that my rear springs are stock, because they are black. not 100% sure - but the front does look lower than the rear.

    thanks

if you do have aftermarket springs, the idea is to have as soft of a spring rate as you can, without bottoming out, usualy the lower this takes affect the better. get the numbers off your coils, and call/ msg king springs and get the spring rates as well as the spring loads for those coils.. and compare them to stock, adding in how much lower your car is compared to stock. if anything is should increase ride stability and improve handling. but since the back is at stock height, it may tend to want to pass the front going around corners...lol :p

If the car is lower in teh front then most likely those shorter springs are stiffer. Having stiff springs in the front with softer in the rear will tend to cause the car to under-steer more. This is because more weight will be transferred front to back then back to front. For example. if you step on the gas while going around a corner, the rear springs will be easy(ier) to compress and thus more weight is transferred back. Less weight on the front wheels means more under-steer. Conversely if you step on the brakes while going around a corner less weight is transferred forward as the springs are harder to compress. That is still less weight forward so more under-steer.

i certainly don't mind having increased ride stability and improved handling
