looking good kevin! love how the wheels came out!

and well as far as i can see that hood looks damn good for a rattle can, personally i think your car would look sick if it was entirely flat black, and with some dark tint, can you tint the front windows in cali?
do you have a clear coat on the hood?

    Agreed, nice job Kev

The main problem with cans is that the paint dries too fast and never gives a true gloss finish
I'm not a fan of clearkote either, damn stuff only lasts 10yrs or so, you'll have to save up for a compressor
or make friends with someone who has one

Re: kevinkyang's (blue interior and fog lights installed )

a good trick with spray cans is put the spray can in hot water. not boiling but about as hot as the limit you can put your hand in there before you cry.

    follow this process
    -sand back 180-240 grit
    -blow off
    -prepsol
    -prime
    -rub smooth with 400-600
    -blow off
    -prepsol
    -paint
-WET sand smooth with 800 (possibly 1000 depending on your type of clear)
-Denib (sand out and debris) with 2000 WET and rub lightly preferably with a rubber block
    - cut and polish

when applying you want long even overlapping motion, slow enough that your covering the area but fast enough to get no runs. Change spray direction on each coat i.e horizontal, diagonal etc. This process is more crucial in the clear as the color you can rub out the imperfections.

applying the clear is the most crucial part and hard to get right with a spray can temp needs to be just right not to hot not to cold. if your coats are to heavy it will be dull with a yellowy tinge. to light and the finish will be what we call "orange peel".

dont cheap out on paint brands quality is important especially with with clear and primers.

    g/l with it

dang, that sounds like a lot of stuff. but, i'll do it once i get a little more money. compressors arent that cheap unfortunately. i remember my brother buying one though. i'd have to double check with him to see if he still has it. i'll browse around for a little one. my garage is big but has too many things in it. so i'd have to consider how much space i have to work with. i do have enough room to get half of my car in before i hit something though. thanks for the tips guys.

matt - its illegal to tint the front here unfortunately. :( i would if i could though. :D
