Don't get me wrong, my wife is into cars as much as I am, she worked Pit/Grid and Start at most of my races. But I've been promising her a new house for way too long and that really needs to happen first, I'll build my Celica soon after when the money isn't so tight!

WANT!!! did anyone else notice that the alternator is driven by the rear axle??? Did they mount the engine in the rear on this car? I can't see the engine anywhere!!!

It's an in-line 4 turbo driving a rear mounted differential, front mounted engine mostly behind the front hubs, turbo mounted out ahead of the engine. Most rear drive front engine super sports cars, Corvette, Porsche 928, and some Ferraris have a similar setup for better weight distribution. Oh and driving the alternator off a drive axel or drive shaft is pretty common on purpose built racecars, NASCAR cars use the drive shaft, takes one more power robbing item away from the engine.

I wonder what kind of money it might have brought at Barrett Jackson? Seems a little low for this much history and over the top engineering in it's day. We were just starting to see radial race tires at that same time in Regional/National road racing, as Hoosier was still selling bias ply Dirt Stockers and Yokohama had just introduced the radial A001R.
