although im no longer a 4th gen owner, other sites cant beat the feed back and maturity on this site. most people post tons of crap before someone comes along that is "on topic." i guess im just too used to being around here, its weird going to the mr2 sites. but, yea, like i said, "i love it here!" i know we joke around and stuff like that. but its to a point where we recover and get back on track before it goes haywire. for example: the mk1 mr2's came with two different motors the "red top" and the "blue top." and the thread simply start by asking the simple question,"what is the difference between the two?" dont know how long it was before reading something meaningful. the only difference is the color of the 16 valve logo and some other things. but it took so long before i got something out of it. most guys where just making fun of the guy who posted it. which is not cool. you wont get my respect that way. unlike this site, where we have the specialist and even the noobs ticking in to give some advice, because quite honestly, we ALL cross paths at one point. its just a matter of getting there. but enough with the ranting. all im saying is, there isnt another site so dedicated and so helpful as this one. im not ever gonna be leaving this site unless the world ends or the internet becomes obsolete irat
Lets hope that neither of those happen any time soon!!! I agree with you 100% though. This is the only forum i have ever been on where everyone is helpful. I also like the fact that so many people have met in person. I really hope to meet some of these guys at some point in time.
Cool Kev, I regard you as part of the furniture anyway I expect you to become our resident 4A expert - or else! I'm also lost when those guys start comparing bluetops, silvertops, blacktops, redtops, bigports and smallports. I think the 4A guys are way ahead of us, wer'e slowly realizing that bigger ports doesn't mean more power, the 4A guys knew that long ago. Then there's 20V and VVT, and no the 20V isn't better than the smallport 16V either Expect to be confused for a while and I'm sure you'll pick it up Niggling on threads to me shows immaturity, which is a problem on many sites - even here our Toymods site is like visiting a kindergarten I started on Celicatech and still visit occasionally (it's ded now) but even there I don't think the mods have left school yet
Kevin, you're spot on in what you've said. Yes, we can have a laugh, but still we get back on track to the topic in question. As you may well have read, there are a lot of us who've become fathers be it first time or the second or third. Because of this we are a lot more responsible in our ways of thinking. There is a time and place for fooling around and being serious. Good to know you're sticking around Kevin.
yea, i hope so too! we still need and international meet! haha its been floating around for the longest time. i think the closest we got was when willie went to the uk and met the members on that side of that pond! lucky man. and he got to sit in steves cars... so jealous! =] yea, its crazy how many different motors there are for the 4a's. but after its all said and done, a lot of people still fall to the roots of the alltrac and dump the 3sgte's in. and man! completely forgot about celicatech. lol that and many others have fallen asleep its crazy how we are seeing eachother grow not only as owners, but as a person as well. i mean, we saw rev_head go from a party animal and alcoholic to a person who has gone past that and set his priorities straight. and many other members on here as well. and thanks! im gonna be stickin for a while :auto
And Kevin, we'll be seeing you get married and start a "Becoming a father thread" one day Interesting what you've said Kevin. Because this site is a small knit community, we get to know each other better unlike a site that has thousands of members.
why would you go elsewhere? celicas have 4a motors too! i thought your car was a celica with the motor in the back?
i agree kevin! totally!!! i hav joined many forums in the past and always been thankful to hav found 2 great forums: - ccuk - st162 both sites are very welcoming right from the begining ... both very knowledgeable and.. ..both very enjoyable with great banter and as mentioned by - our questions always get answered in the end! IT IS a great place to be!!! and also agree maybe one day we hope to all meet sometime!
haha, one day. i will be sure to let you guys know. and yea, its awesome! it is! isnt it. =] the diversity of the different chassis that hold our motors is crazy. i guess it was toyotas test to see which one went were. yea, all the other sites have died. its silent there waiting for days and even weeks before a reply. so i just stopped going there. and its also great you found a good site in the UK. good thing you guys are a relatively small island. not like the US where we cover thousands of miles.
