Finally got my Whiteline strut braces - now with pictures

Last December I ordered F&R strut braces from Raptor Racing, they shipped the correct rear part but the front was for another car. They sent another but it was only half right. Turns out Whiteline has been mislabeling the boxes and I had to wait for them to send the right part from Australia. It got here last week, bolted right on, and works sweet!!

They've really stiffened up the shell, no more hatch squeaks, no more sunroof rattle, even the dash is quieter. I live on rough dirt road and they make a noticeable difference - the whole car feels tighter, less flex. I'm replacing the struts this weekend so that should make it even better. My car isn't lowered or stiffened so I doubt they'll help the handling too much, but it sure feels better.

Here's the front brace (note now it's raised in the center to clear the intercooler on a GT4):

It handles about the same, hard to tell with stock springs and struts, but it sure has tightened the chassis. You can feel the steering is a little sharper and there's less shaking when going over bumps, so it's definitely stiffened the front end. I wasn't sure if it would make a difference since the car already has the firewall brace, but it sure does. And it looks cool!

I got them from Raptor Racing, they did a group buy over on Toyota Nation that I missed but he gave me a good price - $325 for the pair. Not bad for Whiteline.

Hey man if nothing else it sure looks cool. I wouldn't mind having the front bar for my car, but I believe my rollcage stiffens the rear well enough for now. Sure makes a sweet looking setup!!

Whoa... I think those would stiffen-up my droptop considerably no? It kinda shimmies abit due to the lack of the roof. Anything else might help?

those are quite sexy. did they come with new bolts for the mounting or did they say to use the stock ones? also what are the torque specs for the bolts? does it differ in the rear?

I think that front would be way over kill, Since we already have a really good one stock..But the rear is nice..ya got a link for the rear?

the front overkill .........Have you actually had the front bar in your hands?
You can bend it in half soo easily . I would assume something with that kind of structural strength, wouldnt provide any help in stiffening the chassis.

You could bend it in half in the center sure, but that it doesn't bend when it is on the car. The weak point is attached to the firewall, making it very strong. I don't think you could bend one of the tube pieces in half.

i agree..having it bolted to the firewall is the strongest strut bar you can have as far as i know..but ya know..im sure it doesnt hurt, but prolly doesnt help much either..i like having a really clean engine bay.I scrapped all that was unneeded in mine.
