Hello Guys & Gals. I'm Devious (aka Jon). Here's my new Toy. I also have a 182. She's a cat c insurance write off over here in the UK but its purely cosmetic. Here she is... Hope you like.
I have an issue with my Clutch pedal which, I'm hoping the hive brain can fathom. Basically the pedal spontaneously depresses (ie it sinks to the floorpan without actually touching it). At no point does the engine cough or change in any way, nor does the clutch disengage, its simply the pedal. Its been suggested that it could be a bubble and needs bleeding but I'm not convinced. Is there or should there be a spring to return the pedal to its "normal" position or is it purely hydraulic? Thanks on advance.
Hello Jon I see you've found your way over here :wink I'm Steve C on the Celica Club UK Not many of us ST16x series in the UK, but we are a close knit community.
Hey man welcome to the insanity of 162 ownership, nice car just one problem, somebody moved your steering wheel to the wrong side of the car!! racerb :lol:lol
Well my colonial cousin, it would seem you've got it the wrong way round (and 90% of the world. Lol. Thanks very much for the welcomes chaps! A few gratuitous shots after a quick bath... Enjoy
I just think they're cool and this one came up at a price I couldn't say no to. Oh & the wife said "... The Sherv's car is cooler than yours..." Lmfao I'll go as new as the Gen 5 but that's it.
Welcome! have you checked your clutch fluid reservoir? if it's full then you may have bubbles in the line which you have to bleed out.
Hi. Yeah reservoir is full. Apparently it was used as a daily drive up until 2 days before I bought it and it wasn't mentioned as an issue. I'll give it a bleed this week as I'm off from Monday for 10 days annual leave. I'm hoping to get it on the road nice and quickly.
Lmfao... She'd love it. Id be out of her way. X) We're taking our little girl to the New Forrest for a few days. Aaaand some time with Nessa...
Nice one Jon, quality time with the family so you feel so guilty when you work on Black St162 How old is your little girl ? She into Celicas yet ?
So, today was cosmetic surgery day. Needed to replace the crash bar and investigate any further damage from the crash she was involved with. They say a picture says a thousand words so, um, enjoy... Doh... Nice and straight, no obvious signs of movement... Some alignment required... Tomorrow, I shall be putting her back together with her new crash bar.
Had a spare hour this morning so popped the crash bar on (thanks to Derren & CJN for the donation)... Also had a fettle with the light but its gonna need to be re drilled to move the light forward as its just not sitting right.
Pop up headlights are a novelty indeed and very cool.....but a pain in the rear to get right and a not a straight forward bulb change either
