Pumping the gas has no affect on starting. The Cold Start injector is exactly what is states. When the engine is cold, it provides extra fuel for a short time on start up only when the engine is cold and it is controlled by the ecu. Use a DVM(digital voltmeter) and start probing around to make sure everything is getting the right voltages.
