i was fairly sure about that :p, i just wanted to know if it was any thing special cause i keep hearing about the jdm engine.

oh and please dont short the fuse by the + batt. connector, You might regret it if something shorts ;)

yer, just a temp till i can buy a propper fuse. gotta get it going again before i have to worry about shorts :p, but i have some good plans for it. once i get every thing fixed on it, the whole car came to me in a sort of sorry state. my first thing once i sort my current problem out is to get a paint job or new rear struts

looks like it has an egr valve which tells me it's not jdm..i think they didn't have those....but def 3sge!

I think its EGR free. Its missing a lot of the vacume lines on the intake that USDM have. I think it is infact not USDM

Yeah, it might be a JDM. Then again, I think rye would know better than me, considering I don't have a 3s-ge. lol ;)

Not a JDM, I can see the EGR equip.

I fail to see the equpment, and theres a lack of the EGR vacuum thing abome the 2-3rd fuel injector. His car is an SX, id assume ausi, and I dont think they would installed a USDM in Australia

No EGR valve on back of intake, no EGR vacuum modulator mounted to front of intake manifold, and certainly no EGR vacuum lines going to TB. To my recollection, no Aussie engines had the EGR system. They use the same internal emission controls as in Japan. In essence, it is a JDM engine - an ADM engine.

JUst looks sane as mine. I think Kiasis is right, we dont have any EGR crap. Only diff between ADM and JDM would be the ECU mapping for diff fuels...

he has 150 hp and we dont

    Convert 103kw to hp....

  17. dan1_721

    dan1_721 Guest

is 140hp I think.... SO a little better than 135, but not up to the 150hp mark of the JDM. However with more agressive timing like the JDM runs, probably would be close :D

Unless your motor is gutless as like mine!

Kilowatts (kW) x 1.341 = Horse power (hp)

    103Kw = 138 hp

12 hp difference between ADM and JDM... Less aggressive timing a result of just octane differences or something else, too? Bummer. What's torque like?

Just timing I would imagine, perhaps a mixture difference? I remember ALman162 trying a JDM ECU on his ADM and losing power slightly, perhaps he wasnt running 98 octane or whatever. Id probably just advance your timing slowly up to whatever the JDM runs, and run it on the best fuel you can get. Along with letting it breath better, keeping everything in tip-top shape etc....

Looks like my motor. Tell me something. On the cover that sits over the valley where the spark plugs go, does your motor have a label on it? Every 162 iv seen with a 3SGE has this label on the cover, telling about u have to use platinum spark plugs. Its always in english. Mine has one in Japanese, no english anywhere :D Think i might have JDM? my motor looks identical to yours...
