OK not accessories but one of my ex Jap cars (an 89) came with electric folding mirrors and a pop-up "gunsight" mounted in the front bumper to aid parking.
Most of the new Jap import cars have this "aid" but mine looked terrible as the previous owner in Tokyo had managed to crash the "anti crash gunsight" The hole in the bumper is still there and the switch on the centre console.

Some interesting stuff you guys dug up

    lucky!
to fit them in the earlier models arent the console lids slightly different and need to be swapped over. Also here in oz i dont think they were standard as they seem to be rare as and people go to extreme lengths to try and get em, iv never even seen one in real life out of probs 100 162s iv looked at/through

Active suspension was the talk in the late 80's and this is the Toyota version of computer controlled shocks by Tokico
TEMS - Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension

You can stiffen/soften the suspension with a button on the console and there are lights in the rev counter.
(The Supra version had a fancy display in the centre of the dash!)
