So this isnt a celica but its a toyota so most things apply. I have a 90 4runner with a 22re and its got a new battery and a new alternator but the alternator but the alt is only putting out 12.5v. The facotry amp meter jumps up to charged when the key is turned on but the engine is not running. After running the truck for a while the battery finally gives out and dies. The alt has been tested twice and checked out to be good and strong and the battery is a brand new optima. Anyone have any ideas?
check the charge wires coming off the alt. follow them back and check for shorts and breaks in the wire.
