Nobody got a pic of the USDM head rocker bolt holes?

I had to swap out the TEIN's in order to get her roadworthy again using ST182 fronts and ST162 rears.
The rears are OK but the camber is now positive for some reason, need to find some camber bolts.
The fronts are another story, the ST182 shocks are shorter and these are noisy as hell so will need to find some in better condition.
The other idea is to refurb some TEMS shocks and turn them into coilovers without the adjusters.

The bad news is I got my NZ visa extended for another year, so you guys will have to put up with me for another 12 months at least.
Gives me some time to find a better job and apply for residence here

Hi Kevin how's life and TEMS?
Any chance you have a 165 JDM ecu or know one around? A mate at work suggested trademe nz for parts but I figured I'd go to the source.
    whats the going rate?
    hope you're enjoying yourself

I can ask for you but I haven't seen any in ages.

Last week I decided to give TEMS a major service and some repairs.
Replaced ALL the fluids, filters, plugs etc.

I had the front bumper off to repair the rusty fog wires and also epoxy the broken outer lenses.
I also refitted the window trims and ST182 windscreen rubber nowthat the rust seems to have been stopped in the roof.

I took a bunch of pics for you but my new Samsung Ace3 just won't talk to my PC and I ended up deleting them by mistake, nice phone but this issue is pissing me off.

Have a happy new year guys!

i've never tried using the ge covers on the gte head but i know that on the ge head one bolt is different from the gte. it won't leak. (also gte guys really should be using gte covers)
your friends car needs to have that pcv redone (although you said he is getting a new motor anyways) that's not good how he has it. the pcv on a turbo either needs to be atmosphere, on it's own vacuum pump, or pre turbo.

it's good to see you still have the tems stig. best wishes for 2014!

On the rocker issue - we know about the difference between GE & GTE heads, you just use the other hole..
I sold my mint GE covers to a guy in USA and he says the rear one doesn't fit his USDM GE head?
I've asked for pics but sofar nothing, apart from the issue you mention with GE/GTE I see no reason why JDM GE rear cover doesn't fit USDM GE head?

I passed your note onto Rahul, right now he's just fitted one of the baddest sets of rims onto a gen4
He claims the hose runs thru the inlet to a hidden catch can and the can is connected pre turbo via the large braided hose seen running over the LHS strut

This is what I'd like to see on TEMS someday

It's been a pretty shitty year, left TEMS on the street one night and....

wham, some idiot rammed the rear RHS, not bad enough to break the light but it's pretty bad.

I then parked her on the grass and a few weeks later -

WHAM, walked out to find the RHS rear wheel of my co car sitting outside the fender, rear axle snapped clean and $10k worth of body damage, no culprit to be found - needles to say I lost my job - again.

On the plus side I fitted an alu radiator, here compared to the old auto radiator
    [IMG]

Yep, it's a ST165 rad with the turbo feed welded up, seems to run even cooler now and the fans don't come on as long either.

Also swapped out the cracked plate holder for an EU one from a car I'll discuss later
    Before

    After

    ODDITIES - The saga continues
I've learned to disregard everything I've said about the GT-! model. I found one in the yards over here (hence the plate holder) and on reading the service manual it clearly shows this 1988 GT-I (EU spec) car was sold in NZ in 1988. How or why they sold EU GT-I models in NZ is beyond me.

Also I went to help a guy and found something even weirder - A 1988 ST162 fitted with a 4S-F motor and rear drum brakes, 4 bolt hubs and Corolla front disks. Everything else is JDM GT-R spec, car is original and here is the pic to prove it
    [IMG]

    So there you have it....

Well Roy - this is the oddities page? It's sure living up to it's reputation and judging by the hits people enjoy this kinda stuff.
My theory is the GT-i was sold worldwide as a performance model, I guess due to the higher compression Gen2 type pistons, the rumor that it has Alu bonnet and door panels is an old wives tale. I wish it did!!

Found some interesting bits to sell in NZ, shipping these will be a joke
My old auto radiator, has replaced top tank
    [IMG]

A mint rear parcel shelf - to be honest the 1st one I've seen unmolested
    [IMG]

    Spare (skinny) wheel cover
    [IMG]

Mint original TOYOTA (Panasonic) R/T with plugs
    [IMG]

Oh, and I found my headlight problem after months of swapping light switches...
Corroded pins in the main harness plug - $%#@#$

here is a pic that clearly shows where the center bolt is located in the valve cover. Mine is the us version so his should look like mine here. hope this helps a bit.

Yea that's how mine was with the GE head, with the GTE head you just use the other hole
Still don't know what he was on about?

Probably something silly like him putting them on upside down or something. from what i saw they are the same as ours so if they dont fit it is human error on his part lol.

He said the rear cover I sent him did not fit his head, I asked for a pic - still waiting

    Hi, everybody!
It's very interesting thread for me! And I hope I can find right there somebody who knows something about very rare modification of Toyota Corona. I talking about 4-door Corona on ST162 chassis with 3S-GE out from stock!

I talking that this is the rare 4-Door ST162 Corona because this modification is the mod of usual ST150 chassis Toyota Corona.

Any of my attempt to find as much as possible information about this model have been unsuccessful

I found only a few photos of this model.

Usually Corona ST150 differs from Corona ST162 by modified bodywork and chassis, suspension and of course the engine - 1S-iLu - 3S-GE

And now all those photos that I was lucky to find on the Internet.

    1_4-2.jpg 1_8.jpg 271074070.jpg 271074334.jpg 271074529.jpg 2010081000391562f-2.jpg IMG_0114.jpg 29a974cs-960.jpg IMG_0119.jpg

If anyone knows about this model - let me know! Thank you!

I can't believe it!)) Could you imagine that the car at that thread and the car which i was add in my post in these thread - is the same car Look to the license plate - PM3059.

I think that my photos (which i found in sale-site) was added to the Internet by the latest owner (nik - CAMARO70).

Sad, but my pics are usually much older than everyone else's - lol
The car has been sold at least twice by auction site (Trademe.co.nz) and lives here in New Zealand, there are a few others around

That one sold last time for $250, the new owner seems to have given it a lot of TLC.
He probably realised how rare it is, it's not my cup of tea - I detest 4 door cars
