So wait...you OWN CEIKA or work for CEIKA??? any discount's for your ST162.net buddy's??? LOL I've been eyeballing some CEIKA coilovers for a while but I just cant justify that cost at the moment....too many other expenses lol
LionTR> i thought for a sec that you won the lotto. lol Or that you were like me, deeply addicted to the 4th gen and wanted to build one that can destroy anything. Carbon ceramic rotors are a great long term and performance investment. But your money would be much well spent on a standard BBK i think in terms of bang for bucks. Scottjackson> i own CEIKA. But with the amount of work i have to put in it sometimes i feel like CEIKA owns me. lol. Hence the slow progress on the car as well. Our prices are very cheap for the quality and custom service as the price is wholesale pretty much so i can't promise anything big in term of discount. But depending on what you want i will do my best. We already give discounts for front and rear kits purchase to anyone etc so yeah. ;-)
Your type 1 kits are cheaper than ANYTHING else I have found that will work...Megans are about the same from what i've seen....and as far as i know you have to get the 5th gens and modify them. I dont think anyone else makes them for 4th gens. I've heard of CEIKA before but never knew that the owner was a Celica owner! What you do is awesome and I look forward to seeing your build with the CEIKA CELICA!!! lol
Thanks man! Yes there are kits for 5th gen st185 and 184 out there. You will need to modify them to fit. Megan racing might be cheaper if you include shipping i'm not sure. But ours are fully custom built and the quality/reliability is great. I cannot compare with Megan racing as i never tried them nor looked into them. The rear damper length is different between 4wd and 2wd. Also there are difference in the rear bottom mount between 1st and 2nd series st162. We have specs for all of them. And we also have rear camber plates which is great for handling and tyre fitment on our cars. And they can also be made with inverted monotube dampers front and rear. Also the 8/4kg spring rates is not a great option. Too much difference between front and rear spring rate. It's funny that CEIKA and Celica is so similar but it wasn't on purpose actually. CEIKA is a mix of two names.
Great thread but I'd like to see pics of the items for the 4th gen Where/who made the fibre doors/bonnet etc?
Haha I've seen the same vid so many times as well. Good to see you on the Forums MXP. I've always wondered what you had going on under the hood. Very nice project.
I bought Ceika coilovers for my celica and all i can say is that the cost can be justifyed for that those coilovers are really good. and I had it shipped to Iceland and that was pretty expensive but well worth it those coilovers are a quality work, fit perfectly and are easy to ajust. cant wait to see the Ceika celica when its ready, looks awesome.
glad to have you on the forum! this is a great place with a great group of people. you found the right spot! gotta say, your 165 is awesome! and is that the exhaust taking a peek out of the right hand side?
Jumping onto a dead thread here but could anyone recommend on what parts to use for rebuilding the st165 3sgte? As im close to starting a rebuild, if it helps im not interested in going over 300hp and the engine will be used in 2wd format on a e153 gearbox in a sw20 chassis (i know :S) just wondering what parts which will bolt on with the problems are the beat to use to have the engine running at its best with a decent amount of power? Where are you located? If in the US check KORacing in Oregon. They have a website you can order parts on. They are one of the most well known suppliers/builders of the 3SGTE engines.
