Oh sweet even better Just want the scoop that is all, car gets way got in traffic even with 2 fans and an aluminium radiator
a scoop for a wta intercooler is useless . There was NO scoop OEM manufactured, what you see are many people making holes in the hood to let the hot air from the IC get away. A scoop looks cool but is only effective for an ATA intercooler that needs airflow going through instead of hot air getting away. Hope this makes sense to you.
Makes perfect sense thank you Did some research and gt4's started with a scoop after the st165. But a st205 scoop/vent suits the st165 really well This is for an n/a bear in mind, have bigger valves an head work and the car hates summer had to re install my a/c fan I took off when I removed a/c but doesn't cool it that much haha
If you need more cooling, get the ASI radiator... that's about double the size of your standard one. You need to block off the turbo cooling pipe but for the rest works like a charme !
Oh wow that looks awesome man How high does that scoop sit on the bonnet as I bought the same one last night want it to sit as low as possible
It sits flush. Just haven't finalized what fasteners to use. I may use a thin sheet of rubber as a gasket. I actually put this project aside and never got back to it, lol.
hmm, don't really like it. The way Rich had it I think was cool, he made some nice holes in the hood finished them off , must be a picture, search for trinity on the forums.
^Nice, that takes a bit of bodywork to blend it in. I may attempt that later. In the pics above, my vent is sitting higher because I haven't bolted it down yet. When secured, it will look like Quyen's hood, bottom pic. Also, the replica vents appear to have a lower profile with less of 'bulge':
Here's a pic from 'ESracing' 165 hood (in-progress pic). They even put in the bulge in the sheet metal and rear vents. Beautiful piece of work...
Wow they look heaps good I ordered just the middle vent not fan on the upper corners It'll be a little like my previous ride
I bought a scoop And since my celica isn't turbo I was wondering how I can minimise water going into the engine as mesh won't do to much Suggesting would be greatly appreciated
