So since my beater is down and most likely goin to the junkyard i took the echo out and went out, Dinner then movie..On the way home i took the bypass and saw a gren car flying up on me..looked like a celica-ish or 240sx looking car..Im doin 80 in a 75 zone and this guy is haulin ass..So i deceided to play, I punch it as he proceeds to catch up to me very quickly..im doin 120 and he flys by me like i was on a moped, he had to be doin atleast 150-165. I get in the next lane and then he slowed down to get even with me.we were at 65 and we both go..90 we were even by 110 he had prolly 4 cars..120 he had maybe 10 cars..i had never been so embarrassed and impressed in my life..His car had a conversation with my car..his car said "you.. echo, since you have no balls"..suck my balls, and then my echo did just that ..he sucked his cars balls and went home...And to kick it off iot wasnt even boosted, I could easily hear the engine..it was a n/a engine. The Kicker: It was a 24v v-6 FORD PROBE !
Idk how much hp those v6's have but he had mad top end power..i raced a 93-97 v6 firebird at the track and i hung with him from start to finish at the track..so this probe had alot of shit done to it or he was on the bottle.
Come on..Its moddified, its alot quicker than most of riced out shit around here..it wont ever beat a v8 or even a moddified v6 but for a lil 1.3 engine it s pretty quick. As for being a commuter car..i can def say at the stock 3sge level..the echo would def beat it
Its still an Echo, no matter how you cut the cheese. I'll excuse the faster than 3SGE due to driver error on the 3SGE owners part. Did he know he was racing?

Echo mods: lightened underdriven unorthodox crank pulley dc 4-2-1 race header full 2.25 mandrel bent header back webcams reground cams...270 cam lift if i remember port/polish - port match head 6 angle valve job - 1mm bigger on the exhaust side i believe ported/polished TB and manifold Injen CAI Stock echo 108 hp..2000 lbs with me in it.. havent had it dyno tuned yet..one of my to do's i need to get done but should be putting down around 140 tuned with a safc II Sorry to confuse i have never raced a celica with a 3sge ..I ment when i had the celi running it didnt pull as hard as the echo does..even as it is untuned. Sorry..i love my celica but most n/a celi's wont pull on my echo..At best they'd stay even..I have alot of $$ in the echo car cost 12,000 head/head work 1,300 bolt ons 1,500 suspension/rims 1,200 = 16,500

I would put the celica at 2400 or less, and I find it hard to believe any car is lessthan 2000 but not doubting it. howeverI wouldnt doubt the echo to ebe faster
i ment 2800 with the driver in it. from an echo forum. . . This is what Pat (fastecho) is putting down on his sedan, with intake & fart can, UD Crank pulley. Flywheel TQ: 124.1 LBS @ 4030 RPM Flywheel HP: 118.4 HP @ 5961 RPM So i think i will get another 15 or so out of the head work, cams and full exhaust
