is there a reason? diesel engines have so much torque, i was thinking if they paired like a dsg style gear box to keep it in its rev range it would be pretty quick i thought of this because i saw a shop selling chips of diesel cars like the 200 series landcruiser with 228kw and 785nm! which is massive what do you guys think?

Because a TDI sports car = $$$ on insurance.

TDI 'sedan' = cheap insurance yet fun.

Pretty much this. Luckily insurance on my car is relatively cheap despite it being a coupe "sports car"

This is why I'm thinking of an Audi A4 2.0T as my next ride. Just annoyed at the timing belt change intervals are so frequent.
