    Air Flow Meter:

turns on fuel pump, and somewhat controlls air/fuel ratio under heavy throttle, helps tune the ECU

you definitely need that little unit. If you buy a cone filter from ebay or somewhere it will come with an adapter plate to install after the afm. (removing the airbox and filter)

You can do any custom work as far as piping and crap goes just as long as that meter is between the intake manifold and the filter...preferrably as close as possible to the manifold
