Come on guys.... It's a sad comment on society when the most recent thread on the most popular topic is about some broken speedo cable. Two weeks and nothing juicy in diagnostics on the most prestigious of forums is totally unacceptable. Crap, after fixin that lower cable I decided it was time to take care of a "slight" oil leak that's been plaguing me for several years. I figured I'd do the pan gasket on the 3sge.....

    ...to be continued . . .

I hose clamped some LOUD rattling exhaust heat shields... Does that count?

Yes that counts... I didn't even realize that there was a beefy little bracket coming down from one of the intake supports. Reinstalling that correctly made a buttload of difference when I did my recent valvejob.

After I replaced my oil pan gasket I'm still getting a little leak... Hope its not the rear main seal. (Maybe I didn't get the gasket on tight enuf).
It's a real biatsch to recheck the ones under the NS crossmember and the cast brace to the auto Trans but I'll prolly go back in for some more exploritory surgery soon...

I built an 88 celica up with a caldina engine, big intercooler, 3"exhaust and meagan coil overs. Having trouble getting the tires to grip now. Do you think 225 50 16 tires will fit the car with the coil overs and are there cross members to stiffen up the car?

225/50 is really tall. 225 40 should fit.

i'm always working on mine. i just don't need to post up that i have a problem. i have the answer already. i just don't have the time to do what needs to be done.

i might be possibly looking to downrgade the car. it simply has to much power. it's not fun to drive anymore. i'm waiting until i do some spirited drives in the summer to decide if i'm going to do that. it's ok to drive with the slicks but not so much with the rivals. although i may import a set of canterham avon tires (620r rear) and put them on. i'm undecided yet. those will run me 1K to do. and there is nothing wrong with the rivals. there was nothing wrong with the nittos. i'm just hard to please mabye.

hi I'm just wondering if there is anyway to stifffen up the the chassis of my 88 celica. I would like to know if there are any aftermarket cross members available for the 88as well as strut tower connectors
