well guys it my be the time, (PICTURES ADDED) but I need a little ammo to shoot the gun. My buddy is doing his beams red top swap in his sw20, and is coming along nicely. We got all the parts needed to do a major tune up on it before it goes in, t belt, gaskets, seals, valve cover gasket, t stat ,etc etc. and since it wasent hard at all getting those parts. Im thinking of doing the beams red top swap into mine as well. I can get a good deal on one, and its a celica fwd version complete with ecu, harness, airbox, etc. Im not really worried too much on the swap at all, just having to so some re pinning on some wires. What do you guys think? Should I do it. and yes i thought turbo, but decided against, do many parts can go bad, Ill save that if I go alltrac again when I have the traction.
I have tought about getting a 3SGTE when I was about to decide what engine to buy for swap, and the main reason beside the RedTop was reliability. As I see, you have the same worries, so it's decided
My mechanic did it for me, no great issues, but the gauge cluster needed a small mod to make the rev counter work properly (I saw it was mentioned in your other thread as well).
I think I confused everyone, the first beams is for my buddys sw20 , almost finished, and then mine will be done hopefully later this month. 2 beams swap!!
