I'm looking at buying some used 17's, just wondering if they'll fit. They come with spacers.

    The size is 235/45/17.

I’m not sure of the offset.

Should I get them or not? The Price is 295 canadian for all 4 and comes with a pair of spare tires with 80 percent tread.

I found a tire size calculator.. here's the link

    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

    Here's what It said..

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
    205/60-14 4.8in 11.8in 23.7in 74.4in 852 0.0%
    235/45-17 4.2in 12.7in 25.3in 79.6in 796 6.9%

So, the tire is 6.9 % bigger?

    1 2 3
    Section Width 205 215 235
    Aspect Ratio 60 40 45
    Rim Size 14 17 17
    Total 601.6 603.8 643.3

thats from my excel diameter machine SOOOOOOO in conclusion they are 41.7 mm larger in total diameter than stock and 39.5mm larger than mine.

soooooooo in inches 1.64 inches overall diameter so .82 each way. depending on teh offset im quite sure they will rub the bottom of the strut housing.... and probably not move at all if u can get them on haha.

i completely doubt they will fit fine if ,they were on my car id have to take off my mudflaps lol

so in conclusion if u were to buy them those tires will probably not fit especially if your lowered so buy them sell the tires off em and buy new tires :D

Thanks for the insight guys.. especially younds :D
I'm going to go take a look at them on friday and will mostlikely get them as the tires on my car have no tread on them.

But before I go look at them on friday I have to change my waterpump and now my oil pump seals. I took off the timing cover and to my surprise there was a ton of oil that was everywere. I have pictures, but wont post them till I get this car running. It's been sitting for a year.

    Anyway, thanks for the help

I thought it would be allot more of a pain taking the oil pump and water pump out with the engine in, but it's not that bad. I'm also changing the timing belt since I have to take it off anyway.

Hopefully Ill be able to start her in friday. I'm crossing my fingers. :p
