thermo fan switch, how to test?

    with the switch plugged in to the thermo fans( the one on the themostat housing) the fans wont start. my q is how to test the switch. and if the switch is ok, what else could it be?

    unplug it, turn the key on. if the fan turns on it the switch may be bad. if they do not check the fuses and relays.

    yep, they turn on, ive had to unplug it and run it like that cause they wouldn't turn on. Also put new thermostat in but the bastard wont open! tried it with two different ones. any ideas?

    is the system building up a lot of pressure?
    how bad has it overheated?

    yep, fair bit of pressure, radiator gets hot but lower radiator hose cool as. like i said bout the thermo fan switch, i plugged it in and did a couple of laps round the block, heated up and still, the bastard no open. ( in one of my last posts about my overdrive not workin, it worked fine when it got hot!)

    overdrive doesn't work until you are at operating temps...
    sounds like that switch is bad.
