The "how fast is my car" Thread

    Guys, its time to make a thread of performance figures. This will help me and others compare the performance of there cars, and see if they are running right. I am particularly interested in what a stock and healthy GTS/SX should do:

    In the following format:

    Year, Specification:

    Odometer reading, kms or miles:

    Engine/Trans:

    Mods:

    0-100kmph:

    0-60mph:

    1/4Mile/400M:

    Highest speed reached:

    Would be excellent to have such a database of figures, just no BS, though i dont expect that here! :D

    Year, Specification: 1989 gt-s

    Odometer reading, kms or miles: 220,000km on body, unknown on new engine

    Engine/Trans: 3s-ge/s53

    Mods: A lot of weight reduction

    0-100kmph: 7.7 back in the summer

    1/4Mile: unknown

    Excellent! thats pretty quick 0-100. Any idea what stock should be? I get an 11 :?

    Stock was supposed to be 8.1, but even those numbers are can be improved with good shifting and launch.


    What I always dream about is lining up all the 4th gens from our forum at the salt flats, and having everyone take off at once and see what cars are the fastest

    Haha that would be awesome. If i could get under 9 seconds id be very happy! U US guys could probbaly arrange some sort of race

    haha i could race meph. he lives pretty close, although i've never even seen him. which reminds me i still wanna take a look at his car!

    congrats on the new car :) im sure you'll love brogans old celica, it sounds nice doesnt it !!

    you should get it up in members rides asap!

    and back on topic, my celica is around about as fast as brogans as we had a run (testing the new gearbox) and it was even-steven :)

    Thanks, yeah, i love the sound. I'll try to get some photos up tomorrow, or if not, in the next few days. I have sort of been wrecking my auto one in the last 2 days, lol.

    Have you had yours on a dyno?

    i havent, but i have a sneaking suspicion that its running lean and in need of a serious tune. the guy who owned it before me had a piggy back crappy thing on the ecu which added more air and fuel to the mix and its stuffed things up! i blew my intake mani gasket because of it i think!

    i think it would be around the 125hp mark on the same dyno as brog's (julius performance)

    just a guess tho..

    Engine/Trans: 1g 3sgte/s53

    Mods: way too many to list

    0-100kmph: too fast to count

    0-60mph: faster than any other fwd on here. don't really know, does this count for tire slip? corvettes are slow. does that help?

    1/4Mile/400M: 13.76 last i accounted for. should be 13.40s or faster now

    Highest speed reached: 146mph and very scary. really does not take long to get there either. my 0-100 should be about where everyones 0-60 is. lol.
