If you've replaced the housing...you might need to run new wire back there from the front of the car... Follow where the wires go from the back to the front and see if you can find anything shorting out or corroded along the way.

    Good luck to ya! :D

I had something similar happen to mine. After troubleshooting it, I took a flat tip screwdriver and a small wire brush and cleaned out the bulb sockets. That was it, corrosion.

Yes is all his running lights work. Front and rear. But the Tail lights don't work. For the time being he has rear running light bulbs stuck in the tail light area acting as tail lights.

Personally I would tap into the running lights in the rear and but connect to tail lights. Presto no you have both.

Have you checked the tail light fuse? Also check the stop light fuse and tail light relay.

hey im new but i think i know ur prob.... its a little relay box thet contols the tailights and its on the left hand side of the car behind the inside quater panel, mine went too, if the look in the centre the two wires are burnt out the can be replaced but it takes a bit of soldering...

I had a similar problem with my brake lights and this was the culprit.
One of the contacts in the socket casing had melted down, creating a short circuit. I spliced in a good one from the wreckers and all is well again. Check all your bulb sockets first, it might save you a lot of work. A malfunctioning brake light switch won't cause your fuse to blow, a short will.

If it's both lights my vote is the fuse or failure sensor box located
on the left, (your car won't have the TEMS computer on the right)

Oops, didn't realize there's a tail light relay as well - here's the relay and it's location,
not sure if it's in the left or right footwell on your cars

Can someone move this under electrical for future reference?

i had awful trouble trying to find out what was wrong but i ended up goin over the whole wiring loom with a circut tester and it turned out thet the tailight failurebox wasthe fault , if you just repace the two wires that are burnt its grand again, i think it happened when i jumpstarted the car at night with the light on or something not too sure, but it was a real pain in the ass....i think that this post has everything covered on problems with the tailights?ya?
