anyways is there any performence upgrade for this tvis or is the upgrade is just to remove this tvis from your car???
Dude, read the f$%king thread! He just wants to have a light on his dash that turns on when his TVIS activates. Goddamn you, top-page.
i know i'm asking a different question now dude i want to know if you can upgrade this tvis cause like vtec they have a vtec controller stuff like that get it ?????
Ok, this is for non-turbo applications, but I have already posted this, but here goes again: YOU DO NOT REMOVE/DISABLE TVIS AS AN UPGRADE! I have the dyno sheets to prove it! We also checked on the dyno how accurate the switch point is. You know what? It was 50rpm off being perfect. And as far as a turbo goes, I would leave the TVIS there. The switch point in rpm may change with a modified turbo car, but the only way to know for sure is to check it out on a dyno....
removing TVIS is a mistake. period. when you can build a 3s with enough power to eliminate TVIS then you don't have to ask.
like I've told my buddy a couple dozen times. Toyota isn't stupid, they wouldn't put time and effort and money into a system for a car if it hindered performance, except for say P/S and A/C but those are just luxuries you choose to have.
So yeah.... before I drove my car to the garage to change the water pump, I decided to hook up an LED to a constant 12v source....and spliced the T-VIS wire on the ECU to the ground of the LED. I then mounted the LED under my deck temporarily, it will go in the gauge cluster eventually...after I made sure it worked... Drove the car out of the driveway and down the street, I made sure to hit it at least when I was in 1st and boom, light came on at exactly 4000rpm! Works like a charm, I'll get a vid of it soon!
It's cool to see when the t-vis actually activates...now lets just hope I can get this friggin new water pump installed.....
i put cold air on my car and it sounds just like vtec at 4 g's this roar comes out and the car takes off
it sure does, my car sounds badass when tvis kicks in, im thinking of adding a red LED or something for this
